We’re sorry that there was some confusion regarding your pitch allocation. The space you booked was a non-electric field pitch rather than a specific numbered pitch, and as your booking was made separately from your friends’ booking, we were unable to place the two bookings together without affecting the required spacing between units. We have a minimum 6-metre spacing requirement between camping units, which we must adhere to for the comfort and safety of all our guests.

Although you may have noticed the area you had originally requested appearing unoccupied at times, pitch availability can change throughout a stay and spaces may be held or allocated for other arrivals. We therefore have to manage pitch allocations carefully to ensure the site operates safely and fairly for everyone.

We appreciate that this may not have been the outcome you were hoping for, and we’re sorry for any disappointment caused. We hope that, despite this, you were able to enjoy your time at Newgale Campsite and would be pleased to welcome you back in the future.

We’re sorry to hear that you found your pitch uneven and that the evening entertainment affected your children’s sleep. August is an exceptionally busy period for us, with large numbers of guests and entertainment taking place throughout the month. We do advertise our August entertainment programme in advance so that guests are aware that this is a particularly lively time to visit. Our entertainment is also required to finish by our stated cut-off time, and we’re pleased to hear that once you spoke with the team, the music levels were better on the following evenings.

Regarding the condition of the pitch, we do appreciate your comments. The pitch you stayed on has been fully booked for much of August, which unfortunately means that routine pitch maintenance and improvement work cannot be carried out while the pitch is actively occupied. We understand your frustration, particularly as you had stayed on the same area previously and were hoping to see improvements.

We are, however, sorry to hear that you felt let down by the availability of the facilities. We would like to clarify that we do have several toilet facilities available to our guests, including our main toilet block, the public toilets in the car park opposite the campsite, and the toilets within the Landsker Line. As such, we would not normally expect guests to need to queue for toilets.

To help manage demand for the showers during our busiest periods, we operate a money/token system, which we explain to campers on arrival. This system is specifically designed to help reduce waiting times and keep the showers running efficiently.

We appreciate that facilities can become particularly busy at peak times, especially during the summer holidays, but we do feel it is important to reassure future guests that there are alternative toilet facilities available and that measures are in place to help manage shower usage.

We’re pleased to hear that you still enjoyed our spectacular sunsets and the live entertainment, and we’re glad you enjoyed the band during your visit.

We would, however, like to clarify a couple of points raised in your review. Due to the dry weather and increased wildfire risk, firepits were completely banned across the campsite once conditions became unsuitable. We take fire safety extremely seriously, particularly during periods of hot and dry weather, and firepits were not being supplied or permitted at the time you stayed.

Regarding the pizzas, our pizza kitchen is a very small operation, and during particularly busy periods we can experience very high demand. We understand that waiting for food can be frustrating, but guests are able to see our team preparing the pizzas in the kitchen while they wait, and on busy evenings there can be a substantial queue of campers ordering at the same time. We do our very best to work through orders as quickly as possible while maintaining the quality of the food.

We hope you’ll consider returning again in the future and allow us the opportunity to give you the enjoyable Newgale experience you’ve had in the past.
