We have stayed on this site every year for the past 6 years. It’s a beautiful location and clean showers and facilities. My only criticism is when booking you should be warned if your pitch is going to be near the landsker line. I love entertainment and music but it was excessively loud when you’re pitched next to it, or anywhere electric hook up alongside the road. Once the entertainment had finished people were allowed to sing karaoke, which is great but when you’re trying to get your children settled at 10:30pm and there are drunks taking to the microphone and using foul language, it ruins the happy vibe there. Absolutely disgusting.
I think you should be given the heads up if you are being pitched near the entertainment and be able to pitch somewhere quieter if there is availability. It took the edge of our night time camping with family....Read less.

My only concern is that no speed restrictions have been enforced down the road after the the incident last year. I know this isn’t directly the campsites responsibility, but pedestrian crossings, 20mph speed limit and even chicanes would make the road safer for campers....Read less.

I first came across Newgale campsite during a roadtrip around Pembrokeshire. The view as you come around the bend from St David’s and drop down onto Newgale is simply breathtaking! I had to arrange to stay on this campsite, that was literally across the road from a beach with such a stretch of sand. So, we’ve been back twice since.
We moved on to Fishguard this year but regretted it, as we soon realised there a few other campsites that offer such proximity to the beach. The bus that serves the Pembrokeshire coastline is all you really need to discover the area and it stops on site if the driver is courteous 😉...Read less.

One minute it was boiling and the next it was freezing. Staff kept the showers cleaned and closed between 11-12 to jet wash down and ensure they were fresh. Disabled facilities were good but could’ve used some ventilation as when supporting my niece it got extremely warm in side. Overall the location, being able to walk out onto the beach, was unmatched and with a little work on the showers and toilets the campsite would be a 10/10 for now it’s a 9.9/10....Read less.

I recently stayed on a serviced electric pitch on the dog friendly side, I stayed in a tent and the pitch was very uneven to the point it shouldn't be used for tents really, on the second night I had to complain to the site team about the music level coming from the bar attached to the site, I have been coming to this site since 2009 and this is the first time I have heard any noise in the evening, I have 2 children aged 6 and 10 and they couldn't sleep till gone 10:30 due to the karaoke. Once I did let the staff know the following nights the music leve was better. Last uear the site had an onsite pizza van which sold freshly made pizza and they were so much nicer than the pizza now made on frozen bases at the lansker line pub attached. The staff are all good and I'm completely happy with them. I just feel that the pitches need to be looked at and made better. The pitch we stayed on was exactly the same the year before as we stayed next to it. We hoped they would be better this year...Read less.

Staff were very attentive, toilet block was kept clean. Campsite was lovely and relaxing. However, there is a 20 foot climb up a pebble bank to access the beach. Beautiful as it is.

Haven’t been to this campsite for 5 years and still just as good as we remembered. This year we brought our kids for their first camping trip and they loved it (Aged 1 and 4). Great location right next to the beach reducing time traveling for entertainment. Great facilities but would benefit from a changing table and family shower room to assist with little ones as can be difficult to shower dry and dress tiny ones in small space on your own. Other recommendation is a smaller toilet or kids toilet seat adapter for little ones. Even without these though we managed and had a great time- no complaints....Read less.

Having passed by many times we decided to try Newgale Campsite. We usually go to smaller sites and had a few reservations that it may be a bit too noisy and busy for us.
We pitched up on one of the pitches at the back of the site and were pleasantly surprised at just how peaceful the site was even though it was full for the weekend of our stay.
The toilet and shower block was clean and tidy and although it could get busy in the morning and early evening it was easy enough to plan a quieter time.
The Landsker line was open for reasonably priced food and drinks for 12 plus hours a day and some good live entertainment on Saturday and Sunday. Staff were all helpful whenever asked anything and the location right alongside the beach is second to none.The weather for our stay was perfect and we could honestly have not been anywhere better. Will definitely be down for a couple of trips each year...Read less.

So in morning, went to book another night to be told we are Full.
Well that's different from yesterday.
So pack tent away and leave.
Site had all the amenities, was clean ,good for a holiday.
Sea across the road in front of the site well worth it.
Also they had a load of Kids (teenagers) staying here who obviously did not get the no music after 22:30 and no noise after midnight, well they was still at it at 05:00 when walked over to the toilet block....Read less.

This time the site was over full, vans full of dogs on the non dog field, shower block very well worn and in need of an upgrade, lovely pizza van now gone and replaced with pizzas being made in their own building but couldn't seem to cope with demand and had to wait an extremely long time for them. Worst of all, in utter disbelief that firepits were still being supplied the rent by the site owners, even though there were danger signs of wildfires literally up the road. Gobsmacked at the disregard for safety when campsites and music festivals everywhere are banning outside cooking, let alone open fires. On a positive note the Band we saw was good....Read less.

We have been to Newgale campsite once before and it was a no brainer to return again! The campsite has a very relaxed and friendly vibe, we had no problems with anyone else camping. We love the location, directly opposite the sea with beautiful views and we also took a little trip to Whitesands and St David’s. The bar/restaurant nearby the campsite serves drinks and pizzas which we enjoyed whilst listening to live music.
My only little complaint would be that the shower that I used wasn’t able to regulate temperature, it would go from scolding hot to freezing cold and would keep switching without me adjusting the temperature at all. This may have been a one off or the only shower with the problem.
Overall we had a lovely time and will be returning in the future...Read less.

This may not be a problem if here just for water sport but a little disappointing for me.
Strong smell of weed, which wasn't pleasant to smell in the afternoon on a warm day. (unless you like the smell)
There is a great small bar on site, selling pizza.
The toilets are quite old & dirty - not the best.
Overall, a pleasant stay. We had booked 2 nights but only stayed for one. I would come back again if needing a stop over site X...Read less.

It was lovely to be able to walk straight over to the beach for a swim, we also had some lovely sunsets. We did a nice costal walk to solva and trip to St Davids and the blue lagoon.
We missed out on pizza one night as they were quite busy so if the campsite is busy make sure you get your order in early....Read less.

We were excited to return to newgale campsite, and thought after the horrid incident involving the car leaving the road the campsite, and/or council would have actually put in some sort of prevention for this.
They haven’t.
Instead, tents Motorhomes and campers are squeezed into spaces by staff.
Staff guide you into the pitch.
Our hot-water is run on gas and the fumes from the boiler were blowing directly into the neighbours tent. This is extremely dangerous, think co2!
We had our neighbours next to us running their car for power, our gas boiler was causing issues for our neighbour, this is how close we all were. Less than 1m between us!
Noise limits don’t apply to staff who think having a rave at 2am is acceptable, yet if you are having a quiet conversation at 11:30 your being told to go to bed by buggy patrol!
If you leave site for a few hours, expect your pitch to have gone when you come back as there is no allocation.

I’ll be honest, I’ve looked at this campsite for years and thought it looked like a crowded muddle. It is not that!
The management team is on site working hard all the time. I’m not sure they ever sleep. We were on the open camping area but they found a suitable pitch for us and guided us there. No free-for-all and, while it is a busy site, it didn’t feel overcrowded.
All the facilities are clean and well managed, no over-flowing bins. Showers are in limited supply for a full site but they are constrained by their buildings. Great bar with pizzas and live music in season but not rowdy. An excellent choice for families. Local attractions - the beach. Need I say more? The road needs adult supervision to cross but then you’re straight onto miles of sand with life guarded bathing. Highly recommended....Read less.

When we first arrived we were a little overwhelmed by the size of the site and all the rules. However we soon understood that this was for the benefit of all although not always enforced (eg open fires on the very dry grass).
We would have preferred to be next to our friends van but as one of us had a dog and one didn’t that wasn’t possible.
The site was well run and the staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were fine and clean but maybe adding another toilet/shower block to adequately serve the number of people would be a good idea.
The location is fantastic as it is so close to the beach and public transport links.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and may well return one day....Read less.

Much better there is a cafe there now (although part of our order was forgotten) and little place to drink with music.
Pitches had plenty of room although busy but not it liking the coin system with the showers, you lose precious time from putting coins into getting naked even if prepared! Shower was nice and hot although husband had trouble getting the temperature right. Not far to St David's and other areas so always on our go to if hitting this area....Read less.

I return to Newgale every year and love the ambience and beautiful scenery surrounding this lovely Pembrokeshire coastline. The campsite offers spacious pitches to accommodate tents, campers, or caravans whether hooked up to electrics or not. Pet friendly and non-Pet areas are huge. On site facilities are excellent and kept clean and tidy 24/7. The staff are always really friendly and helpful to make sure you enjoy your stay.
Want a flat 2 mile long sandy beach? That's easy as it is only metres from the campsite, protected by a long pebble ridge. The onsite Landsker Line provides great food and beer and weekend live musical entertainment during the season too.
With huge shopping facilities only 8 miles away in Haverfordwest it is easy to fetch essential supplies, and there is so much to see and do around the area you'll always find something to do for families....Read less.

4 toilets only available for males and 4 showers for the whole of the site, the shower heads were black with grime and not very clean. When using the toilet next to the shower you were getting splashed by someone having a shower.
Having to pay for a shower as well on top of already paying to camp.

During your visit we experienced one of the busiest weekends of the season, and while we always strive to make the most of the available space, we appreciate that the site felt much busier than you were expecting. Our open fields allow campsers to choose where they pitch other than at peak times when we park campers up to ensure space and that the site remains as organised as possible.
We're also sorry to hear that the cleanliness of the shower and toilet facilities fell below the standards we aim to maintain. Our facilities are cleaned regularly throughout the day, but your comments have prompted us to increase the frequency of checks during particularly busy periods.
Our shower charge helps us cover the significant costs of providing hot water while encouraging responsible water usage and reduce queues. We understand that opinions on this vary, and we appreciate your feedback.
Although we're disappointed that you wouldn't currently recommend us, we do appreciate you taking the time to let us know where we can improve. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with a much better experience.

We have been coming to Newgale for 10 years. It’s the teens favourite time and it’s never long enough.
It’s 4 stars not 5 as the pitch we booked was well worn and dusty. It was the same last year.

I have yet to find a better campsite than this in the UK. Having that beautiful beach right across the road with those sunsets is very hard to beat. Newgale is a well-run campsite with lots of friendly and professional staff on hand if you have questions. The fact it now has a cafe/bar is a welcome addition in recent years - quality of the coffee was superb and a lovely vibe to the place (plus two big tv's at either end up high is good for sporting occasions as the world cup final was on while we were there). There was even some live music on the Saturday night in the beer garden - a terrific country / classic rock band (did a better version of Dreams than a Fleetwood Mac tribute band I saw recently!)...Read less.

Excellent location right next to one of the most stunning beaches I've ever encountered. Lifeguards in attendance and extremely clean with stunning coastline views.
The site itself was perfect for my needs, staff extremely helpful and friendly and the facilities, although basic, were very clean and it was obvious they were regularly checked and attended.
Newgale is a superb location for further exploring the magnificent Pembrokeshire coastline. With St.Davids just a short drive or cycle, you can experience some of the most stunning locations in the UK. Definitely recommend and will definitely return....Read less.

Regarding our on-site bar, we appreciate your feedback. We aim to offer a relaxed selection of pizzas, pastries, and drinks, although during particularly busy periods some items can occasionally sell out. We're always reviewing our stock levels to help improve this for future guests.
We also appreciate your understanding regarding our 20p showers. The small charge helps us encourage considerate water usage while ensuring the facilities remain clean and well maintained for everyone.

Regarding the pitch, the exceptionally dry weather has unfortunately affected the condition of our grass pitches, and despite our best efforts, some areas have become much drier than we would like.
As you mentioned, you stayed with us during one of our busiest weekends of the season. While we work hard to provide sufficient facilities, there can occasionally be short waiting times for bathrooms and showers during peak periods. We do charge a small fee for showers, which helps us manage demand and reduce waiting times while maintaining the facilities to a high standard.
We're also sorry to hear that you experienced noise late into the evening. We have a strict quiet policy from 10:30pm, along with on-site night wardens who are available to address any disturbances as they arise. Had we been made aware during your stay, we would have been happy to investigate and take appropriate action.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve, and we hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with a more enjoyable experience in the future.

This is no reflection on your great site but would it be an idea to have an adult only area, as it can get very noisy with children playing during busy times.
