nice little site, while one part of the field was flooded because of the weather there was still loads of room. The toilets and showers were spotless, considering the weather we had 60mph winds rain......Read more.

Be warned though the site is quite open to the weather being situated next to the beach but that doesn't detract from the stunning views.

Even though it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale we were made to feel very welcome on our arrival. The campsite is very easy to find. The toilets and showers were spotless.

There is a small bistro on site which serves pizzas bacon rolls ets but a chippy would be a real bonus.

Overall a lovely friendly site and even though the weather wasn’t very kind would definitely return in the summer...Read less.

"My favourite place to stay!"

Our first stay in a motorhome and access to electric, water and waste water facilities were good. The toilet and shower block are good and very clean. We have camped here for many years without mud......Read more.

The Landsker Line is an excellent place to get a coffee or a warm snack on a cold day. A pint outside on a summer's day is most enjoyable. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Next to the campsite is a shop where you can hire watersport equipment and wetsuits. Sands cafe is only a short walk away and provides a sea view while enjoying a drink or a meal.

The sea is only a short walk across the road so it's easy to pop over to check the waves or to catch a sunset. There is a long stretch of beach to enjoy a walk when you're not taking part in your favourite watersport. The pebble bank is a challenge to those with mobility issues or young children in pushchairs....Read less.

My partner and I spent the weekend at Newgale campsite with friends of ours. The site was well kept and clean. Staff were very friendly and within a short space of time made us feel like we were regulars in the village. The Landsker was fantastic. Fresh cooked food and refreshments served from 8.30am until 10pm. We visited during their Oktoberfest which was a great weekend. Staff and owners dressed up. Food was made for the occasion and live bands on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. We will definitely be visiting again soon....Read less.

Stayed here before wonderful location fab break only an hour from home staff are so friendly and always welcoming even better now they have the lil bar and coffee shop as part of the site. Good spaced out site straight opposite the beach. Toilet facilities good. Shower and laundry facilities available although can't comment on these as we didn't use as was only there for one night. 2nd stay this year, location as always is perfect, site is peaceful and quiet. Haven't used the new bar, we dont go away for pubs and clubhouses, hoping it doesn't turn into one as that would be a shame, the live music wasn't too loud and didn't go on late but I'm glad we weren't any closer to it or it would have been annoying as we were able to hear it in the caravan with closed windows.

While the campsite can not help the weather it's a shame the pitches were muddy and flooded, to the point we couldn't put our awning up as it would have been in a puddle, the amount of mud we trapsed in the caravan was graze and it was only from the pitch as went nowhere else muddy. Due to return for another trip this month and are preparing for this as expect it'll be slightly worse. That said the facilities were still kept spotlessly clean. All in all we still love the campsite but our pre-summer experience was better!...Read less.

Welcoming Staff a beautiful spot right by the beach. The campsite was quiet during our visit as Storm Amy also decided to stay for a few days. As this is right on the beach you will get the full force of the weather. When the weather is nice it gets busy so book it’s beautiful in the sun and the sunset is gorgeous. The Lanier line bar served a lovely pint. I would have given a full 5 stars but the facilities are tired and need an upgrade....Read less.

This site is very good - basic and cheap in a good location and it has a very clean toilet block.

It’s a short walk over the stones to a fantastic beach and the on site bar is a bonus.

During our 2 night stay we walked along the coastal path, went body boarding in the sea and enjoyed the new sauna which has a beautiful view.

It was very windy but the camp site had given us the option to change our booking because of the forecast which I thought was good.

Having to have coins for the shower is a bit old school but I guess it helps keep the costs down....Read less.

Great value for money. We didn't really use the facilities as we have a camper. We love being up on the terraces so can see the sea. It wasn't the best weather this time but we still got some good walks on the beach and swimming. We come out of season to avoid the crowds so you never quite know what you'll get weather wise.

Easy access out to the main road to travel to other places and for shopping. We will be back...Read less.

Our pitch had a big dip in the middle the rain pooled under tent and came through floor sheet staff were great offered us a different pitch but the tent was soaked inside so packed up early but I would camp here again just pick a different pitch the campsite position and facilities are great...Read less.

After driving past this site for many years I finally got to stay. First impression was that it looked tired as a site. It could do with some serious updating to make the marked off pitches clearer and tidier. But the site itself was quiet despite being full on the Friday and Saturday nights so late in the season. Compared with other sites it fairly reasonably priced so I suppose you get what you pay for. I may be tempted to come back though as being so close to the beach and lots of dog walks it makes it a great venue for a weekend away...Read less.

I recently stayed at Newgale for my first solo camping trip and loved the site. I felt very safe, the welcome upon arrival was so warm and the site is well run and staffed. The toilets and showers were well appointed and clean, the cafe / bar was perfect. Live music and beer in the evening, fabulous bacon rolls and coffee in the morning. The location is second to none, right across the road from the beach and you get that famous beach view as you descend to the site. Perfect campsite in great location, on edge of the beach.

Lovely clean shower & toilet block & great little coffee shop/ bar open from 8am till very late at night.

This is a great site. Clean &tidy and 1 minute walk from beach.

The site is in a great location. Not far from Haverfordwest or St David's with lots of other villages and nice spots in between. Headland walks for miles. The staff on site were very friendly and helpfuly and always busy keeping the site clean and tidy. A small bar on site which was very nice. Serving a range of draught beers and hot food. The beach is literally a stones throw away. My only complaint would be the pitch allocation for the non electric on the main felid. It was very wild and pitch wherever. I did get rather busy and full very quickly. Perhaps having dedicated pitches marked out with clear paths so you didnt have other people walking straight through your pitch. We still enjoyed oit stay and would come back again....Read less.

We spent a Fri-Tues over a bank holiday weekend and had a blast! The sites location is amazing, couldn't be closer to the beach (you can see a picture I took of my family on the stones of the beach from my tent) , close enough to shops and things if we needed anything, there was live music over the weekend which was awesome. I didn't visit the bar but my sister and brother in law did and said it was lush. We also used the fire pit(in pics) and the onsite shop for a necessity. It's not our first time at Newgale and it won't be our last. We love it there!...Read less.

We had a great time at Newgale camp site. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. The situation with paying with coins for a shower is a bit impractical. We are happy to pay but maybe a few more showers would help with the queues also a card reader may be a bit more practical these days.. Allocated pitches would also help we think.

We stayed as a family group for the first time from ages 66 - 2 & everyone had a great time. It was surprisingly not overcrowded for a bank holiday weekend which meant no long ques for toilets or being overrun with kids. All the staff were really friendly & helpful, including letting another family member join us last minute & blowing up the plug in airbed for them! Thank you guys. Perfect location from across the beach as well, delicious pizza truck, quiet overnight so we could all get a good sleep & the bands playing at the cafe were brilliant. The sunsets over the sea were incredible, and I loved how everyone took their chairs from the campsite up to the rocks just over the road to watch the sunset each night. For groups, if we are aware of the group before they arrive we will rope an area off specifically for them to avoid them being out in the field but inevitably there are groups that don't let us know ahead of time.

This was an amazing 7 day trip away. The site and amenities were spotless, well staffed and well ran. I had a quick query a week or so before our stay and the team were super helpful and quick to respond which was welcomed. The on site bar was a great addition and the pizza truck was frequented far too often but delicious each time. The site is a literal stone throw away from the beach and was beautiful (I highly recommend catching a sunset at least once whilst you’re there). The fact we could bring the dogs and use the beach in August was a real win for us. This is also a great spot for picking up the coastal path if you fancy a bit of a trek - The views and scenery were stunning. We will definitely be booking here again....Read less.

We’re sorry to hear your stay didn’t meet expectations. To clarify, we do not advertise full-site WiFi on our website — the only WiFi available is limited to the reception area and is free of charge. As we are in a rural coastal location, phone and data signal can also vary depending on your provider, which is unfortunately outside of our control.

With regard to facilities, our dishwashing areas do have hot water, but at peak times the tanks can run low and require a short reset and refill, which the team always try to manage as quickly as possible. The toilet and shower blocks are deep cleaned daily and attended regularly throughout the day, although during especially busy periods they can become untidy in between cleans.

We bought ice creams and drinks from the site café and the pizzas (van) smelt and looked fabulous, although sadly we didn't try one (this time).

I stayed with my two grandsons (16 & 13) and my puppy.

The beach is mostly dog friendly and beautiful, weather was good

We went to St. David's and explored the cathedral and St. Non's Chapel as well as walking part of the Coastal Path.

We called around to Solva and played about at Porth Clais.

Day on the beach the following day after packing down the tent (by noon - which is a generous check out time).

Good value pitch with everything you need for a restful time.

The site is casual and friendly with lots of children and youngsters which makes it a site for all age groups. Dogs are allowed and added to the outdoor vibe. We are in our late seventies and enjoyed the family atmosphere all around. There was no trouble, late night noise or unruly behaviour. A superb campsite opposite a wide sandy bay. The friendliness of the team, both before arriving (helping with an amended booking) and during the stay was so lovely.

We were in a motorhome, with EHU and the pitches were generous & flat. We didn’t use the showers but they are 20p for around 2 minutes. Pizza van on site.

The site rules are enforced which is good, no music after 10.30, quiet at midnight. We stayed with family in August so as expected it was hugely busy with young children & teenagers but it didn’t disturb us. If you’re expecting a quiet ‘manicured’ CAMC site this is not the place for you in the summer holidays - some tolerance towards children is needed. We loved it!

Across the road is a high wall of sea defence pebbles to navigate before the beach, you do need some degree of mobility to climb over.

We visited Solva while we were there, a quaint little village with a lovely harbour, a couple of shops & nice pubs.

We would happily return if our family stayed again....Read less.

Our first visit to this site and despite the 7 hour journey it was worth it. The proximity to the beach and the views were stunning. Despite being very busy the campsite was quiet and calm and had a lovely vibe. Only downside was the lack of facilities. There is a lovely pizza trailer onsite and the band that played on Saturday had probably a hundren people watching from the stones as the sun went down - absolutely beautiful! My family of 7 tents comes back every year and love the venue, with clean toilets and decent showers. Our tents were squashed very close to each other inn our family reserved space this year, which might have been just a bit of mis-judging of space, but we decided it was fine and being able to go to the lovely cafe next to the site for a beer or nice coffee/pastry was brilliant!...Read less.

The location is fantastic, you simply won't find a site any closer to the beach. Plenty of space for awnings, gazebos & parking.

The owners need to celebrate having the Landsker bar. Its a perfect place for a beer, ice cream or simple food. And a superb addition to the site. The music here was great also.

Improvements could be made to the wet facilities, they're simply just too small for a site this size. The charges for showers were inconvenient and disgruntled quite a few campers. After experiencing the ques and charge machines which were temperamental. I chose to shower in my caravan for the remainder of our stay. The grounds need more maintenance as our pitch was a little uneven and the boundaries untidy. The vast majority of people here stayed in tents & motorhomes, caravans are the minority...Read less.

We do appreciate your feedback on the shower facilities. The coin-operated system is in place to avoid long queues and to ensure there’s always hot water available for everyone, but we understand it can feel less convenient compared to using your own facilities in a caravan. On very busy days the demand is naturally higher, but the blocks are cleaned regularly throughout the day to keep them in the best condition possible.

We’ll also take note of your comments regarding ground maintenance – while most pitches are level, we do try our best in between bookings and after season closes to carry out maintenance on them but it is quite difficult during the very busy periods.

Although the amenities were basic they were clean and well kept .

Male & female shower/ toilet blocks

Waste disposal

Running water

Elan point and grey water disposal for motor homes .

Inside washing up area with communal freezer for all to use along with laundry facilities to wash & dry clothes.

Pitches were flat and grassed or hard standing pitches with electric hook up .

Coded security Barrier onto site

Pizza van on site open every day and also a bistro bar serving snacks & drinks all day till 10pm with live music at weekends.

Surfing lessons available on site as the beach is very popular with the surfing community.

We paid £22 a night for 2 of us and the dog on a non electric pitch no extra charge for gazebo or pup tents

Things I would say it could do with - bigger shower block - the ladies had 4 showers and 6 toilets. More of a shop - to get the easy food things (milk, bread, bacon etc). Washing up space was also quite small, I was touching people I didn't know as it's elbow to elbow. Freezer for ice packs didn't freeze well and we had them stolen half way through which was seriously annoying as our food ended up going off quicker.

BUT - I was camping with my amazing friends, we were by the sea, together, enjoying camping - so whilst I put the slight negatives - it was a good week...Read less.

On the facilities point, our toilets and showers are deep cleaned daily and also attended to hourly by our staff. During peak periods they can become unclean again very quickly due to the high number of guests using them, but please be assured that our team works hard throughout the day to maintain them to a good standard.

I found that I couldn’t actually use any of the facilities because I was a solo traveller with a dog, and really couldn’t leave my dog locked up in a van in the hot temperatures.

I normally have to take my dog everywhere with me, including to the loo, so it would be nice if there was some small exception to allow in dogs into the facilities on the basis that you leave things as you find them.

The second point which I feel could really enhance some stays at your site, could be to have a solo traveller or adults only area. There was one guy who I stumbled on while walking the dog, and he was just one solo guy in a small green one man tent surrounded by tents with loads of kids running around. He just wanted some peace and quiet to get his head together, as a bit of respite from his home situation.

Same with me really… I solo camp for chill time.

We completely understand your concern about leaving your dog, especially in hot weather. For hygiene and safety reasons, dogs aren’t allowed inside the facilities, but we do provide tie-up points just outside so you can use the showers, toilets, or washing-up areas without worry.

As for your point about solo travellers, the nature of Newgale is that it’s a family-friendly campsite, so children will be part of the atmosphere here- Especially during the school summer holidays. Outside of the peak summer period things are naturally much quieter and may be more suited to the type of stay you’re looking for.

Great place to stay. Right on beach with new bar/cafe opened is great. Walked from newgale along coastal path to solva. It was a great walk, 5 miles each way but pretty up and down so not easy by any......Read more.

Campsite is great with nice atmosphere and perfectly adequate facilities. We had our spaniel with us and it’s nice that it’s split into dog friendly and non dog sections. Fire pits available to hire and purchase wood. Will be returning in future and would recommend as can access a lot of nice places in west wales from here...Read less.

I stayed for one week and met lots of like-minded people,the staff are excellent and the showers and toilets are very clean, cleaned every day!

I am still recovering from what I'd call 'My best holiday ever' and I had just returned from Greece!!!
