Our third time visiting Gwinear which speaks volumes for a Lovely peaceful,clean,tidy well kept site.Everything is always spotless with well kept grassed areas.Everyone is friendly and polite.

There is a bit of road noise though this doesn't effect the peacefulness of the site or your sleep.

Fishing on your doorstep,a paddock where you can let your dog off lead for a run and play.

Easy access of the main A3075 not to far off the A30,great location for visiting the whole of Cornwall,so many beautiful places to mention them all, Newquay and Perranporth around 10 minutes drive.

Whilst the site is brilliant for those keen on fishing, you don’t need to like fishing to enjoy staying at this cracking site. Views over the specimens lake garnet and there’s a lovely walk around the second lake. The staff are really friendly and there’s an onsite catering van that does the most amazing food.

The shower block and facilities are first rate. 5*+

The site is perfect great location for getting around cornwall, all the staff are so friendly and helpful. This is the cleanest site we have ever stayed on it is immaculate all the facilities are spotless, we had 2 small children in our group and it was safe for them as everyone drives with care. Excellent site, spotless, modern facilities. Cleaning cloths & spray for customer's to use on sinks. Some lazy selfish, inconsiderate holiday makers need to use bins provided & mop out shower & clean up after themselves. Including dish wash area!

This is our second time staying at Gwinear,it's always very clean and tidy site,toilets and showers always spotless,staff always polite and friendly.Dog paddock is great for some off lead fun which the dogs always seem to enjoy,plenty of dog bins around,though one did seem full for the majority of our stay.

Pitches are large with a gravel hard standing,rock pegs definitely needed,relatively level,though in heavy rain we did have a bit of a river flowing through the awning

Gwinear is a peaceful relaxing site,with low light at night which is fantastic for seeing the stars on a clear night.

Great location with easy access of the main road,10 minutes into Newquay and 15/20 into Perranporth,just an ideal base for visiting the whole of Cornwall.

Our second year at this excellent site, just as good as the first year. Spotlessly clean and tidy, facilities are plentiful, modern and kept amazingly clean. Fishing facilities for those that wish to indulge, and for those that do not, it is still a lovely walk down and around the lake and back up to the enclosed dog exercise field. 2 Nationally Trust beaches within 2 miles - Crantock Bay and Holywell. Free parking for NT members. Perranporth beach around 3 miles in opposite direction. All are dog friendly all year round. 3 miles from centre of Newquay, and a Morrisons supermarket about 1.5 miles away....Read less.

We've enjoyed our stays at Gwinear from since it was taken over by the current lovely family. There's always a warm welcome from all of the team. The site is kept in an immaculate state and as the years have passed, has been developed to the benefit of everyone that stays here.

Although fishing facilities here are a major bonus for those that angle, it is equally enjoyable for those of us that don't. The site has always been a calm, quiet place to stay, overlooking the specimen fishing pool and sunset between the surrounding trees.

The facilities have developed to become second to none with the spacious washroom with areas for anyone with a handicap, hot showers, laundry, dish washing area, dog and wetsuit cleaning area, enclosed dog walking area, excellent WiFi, security gate, fishing shop & two separate pool areas, .... and more seems to get added or improved each year.

I have stopped on this site now for 4 years running and have booked in again for next year.

The site is well laid out with each pitch being well maintained and having plenty of room. Each pitch also has its on water tap which comes in very handy.

The toilet block is always really clean and well maintained and there's even a doggy shower which is priceless for me having 2 spaniels who love the beach. Much to the girls joy it has hot water too.

Staff are always happy to help and are really friendly.

We always stayed on the South Coast of Cornwall but gradually found that as we had a dog we were unwelcome. Gwinnear is our perfect site and welcomes our canine friend, it has a dog walk and an enclosed field to let her run freely. The site is spotless and the grounds really well kept, the owners and staff are helpful, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.

We have visited the NT property Lanhydrock and can usually only walk around the grounds and woods. This year we were pleasantly surprised to find we could enter the formal gardens, it was a trial and we do hope it succeeds....Read less.

The campsite site is conveniently situated within easy reach of Newquay, Padstow and numerous other Cornish towns and villages plus the Eden Project which should not be missed.

The site was extremely well kept, clean, peaceful and private. The landscaping was well established and maintained. I was particularly impressed by a large array of solar panels discreetly located away from the camping area. We’re regular visitors as my partner enjoys the fishing at the well stock and immaculate fishing lakes. The camping facilities are very good with high standards of cleanliness, accessible for all and pleasant to use. We’ve always found the staff very helpful and friendly and with an attitude of ‘nothing is too much trouble’.

The site is lovely and quiet and although adjacent to a busy road you’re not really aware of the traffic. The pitches are a good size and well maintained.

Gwinear is well placed to visit most of Cornwall’s visitor attractions and, with a little insider knowledge from the staff and locals, you can always find the less well known ones too.

We had called up last minuite as we decided to stay the night and no where would accompany us due to only staying one night called up and they agreed to us having just one night which is brilliant. The staff was amazing, clean toilets and brilliant shower systems, well stocked fishing pin which I had forgot y tent pegs so had to buy some from there which is amazing(ps ended up buying clothes while in there) 🙈 will deffo recommend and be staying here again...Read less.

This was our second visit & it didn’t disappoint in any aspect. The site is kept to such a high standard with every detail taken care of. New additions are a coffee van that visits two mornings a week, to be able to purchase a lovely coffee & croissant in the morning is a great idea. Also the use a communal freezer is a help with longer stays. All staff can’t do enough to help with every aspect of your stay & make you feel so welcome. Fishing was superb & very reasonably priced. We had days out at Carbis bay, St Ives, Falmouth & paddle boarding along the Gannel at Crantock. Will be returning for sure....Read less.

The only thing that is still wrong is you seem to think that the fish only want to be caught in office hours ie 9to five . For an angler that is very disappointing we like to fish an evening session and so does the fish . Hopefully by the time I return day tickets will be for a Dawn till dusk duration. Despite being next to a well used road you can hardly hear any traffic noise, resulting in a lovely peaceful, well positioned site.

We received a lovely welcome upon arrival and headed over to our Top Row pitch, which had its own electric & water tap and a small grass area.

All staff members were friendly and approachable. There's an on-site dog walk and a couple of fishing lakes (extra charge for fishing) an that's it.

Lovely toilet block with spacious toilet and shower cubicles. Why not give 5 stars? Unfortunately the showers were not hot and kept running cold on me. Coupled with the main door being fixed open, the result was feeling chilly both in and when you emerged from the shower. The showers are push button with a fixed temperature. Also no hairdryer, full length mirror or washbasin cubicle. All this was feedback was notified to site owners when we were there. Fix this and it will be a 5* review!

On arrival and during our stay at Gwinear, all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.

The hard standing pitch had plenty of space with water and electricity on the pitch.

The shower blocks are very clean. There was plenty of hot water for washing dishes. The washing machines are very good and clothes come out almost dry. All areas are well kept including the recycling area.

The fishing was very good for experienced and beginners, you must use a landing net but you can borrow one free of charge.

First class campsite, this has everything to make this site no 1 in Cornwall the caravan pitches are large and set out looking at the lake. Amenities are excellent, clean and everything you need inc a launderette, dog & wetsuit wash area, washing up facilities if camping . It also has a dog exercise field and two lakes. Specimen lake and a pleasure lake with a very well stocked tackle shop. This site is situated where places all around are within a short journey. Holywell bay and golf course for everyone is a must and 5 minutes away by car....Read less.

The campsite is immaculate, up with the very best we have stayed at. Large pitches separated with hedges, which in time will provide privacy. The showers and toilets are modern, spacious and very clean. Bus stops a short (10 minute) walk from the site provide services to Newquay, Truro and Redruth. The only downside for us was cycling from the site was initially on a fairly busy stretch of road. Visited two local pubs, Smugglers Den and the Pheasant Inn, both great with friendly staff and good food....Read less.
