This was our 6th visit to Gwinear in last 7 years.

Staff are extreamly friendly and helpfull in order to make sure your holiday is 1st class.

Showers and toilets are excellent and cleaned several times a day.

On site laundry, dog & wet suit wash, fishing lakes and tackle shop.

Small fenced dog exersize field.

Well maitained site and pitches and good free wifi

It would be better if the main fishing lake stayed open till dusk so you could take the kids fishing in the evening, it currently closes at 5pm.

The site is very well looked after by the very friendly staff who are always available if you need them

The toilet facilities are always clean and tidy .There are facilities for pot washing shower for wetsuit cleaning and dog shower laundrette and freezer for anyone to use there's an excellent restaurant called nellys on site but it's advisable to book well in advance

The pitches are well spaced out and large enough for caravan and awning car parking and outdoor dining and all hard standing and private there's grass pitches for camping with tents and some camping pods

Thers two fishing lakes one for specimen fishing and one for pleasure fishing and a very well stocked tackle shop

We have stayed a few times now and always found it an amazing experience, friendly staff from all round, my partner and son fish regularly and it's also dog friendly too all over so means we can stay together. Lovely dog fields to use and walks around the camp site. Toilets and showers AMAZING! Lovely quiet camp site, clean and everything is close. Staff at the fishing shop are great, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. This is definitely a regular for us now, shops, pubs, beaches etc are only a short drive away so handy you don't have to travel far. Pitches are a good size with plenty of room and even better all separated by hedges so you do have some privacy. Can't recommend this enough! Absolutely value for money....Read less.

I can honestly say Gwinear is the best campsite we’ve ever stayed on, it is immaculate, the bathrooms/showers are better than some hotels, the staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful, campsite quiet and very well placed.

We have stayed previously many times and really enjoyed our stay, the pitches are pristine and level. The shower blocks are superb. The peace and quiet and Tranquility is just unreal..

My only problem with the Site this year is that the new edition from last time I was here Nellys it doesn’t serve a purpose for the Camp Site and I don’t see why it’s there if you can’t even order a portion of chips to go with your evening meal so seriously, what is the purpose of Nellys? .

The fishing side as good as ever Top lads always looking out for you and giving great advice to both sea And course fishing.

All staff are really helpful even on site as well as the fishing and always happy to help. Highly recommend this site and we will definitely be staying again next year with family that stayed with us as they like it that much they are also getting a caravan to join us next year.

Stayed here many times and always had a fantastic welcome from Andy, Amy & Tom. Facilities are second to none. Fishing on either the pleasure lake or specimen lake are very good and brilliant tackle shop. One issue is they dont open till 9.00am so no early start One very small downsize is no shop for essentials but sainsbury,s and lidi are a short drive out. Area is lovely and bowgie's inn and smugglers inn have fantastic meals . Lovely beaches are abundance and not forgetting Fistral beach with waves for surfers....Read less.

Great location site we did have issuers this year we have been using the site 5 years immaculate toilets great sized pitches fast internet service! This year standards have dropped no wi fi for nearly 2 weeks toilets not as clean showers tepid! This was our third time here.

It’s immaculate…… everywhere!!!

Great care is taken over the site each day.

It has all the facilities you need from pot wash to paw wash.

Pitches are a great size and very well maintained.

Owners are incredibly helpful. We forgot the awning pump and they really went out of their way to find one for us.

The lake is beautiful and although we don’t fish we enjoyed walks around it.

This site appears to attract really lovely fellow campers and caravaners who are very respectful of each other and the site rules.

Gwinear is one of those sites you really want to keep a secret but you also want to shout loud about it. We love it and we will definitely be back....Read less.

Gwinear is the best site we have stayed at in Cornwall so far, and we’ve stayed at quite a few. Lovely well kept grounds, toilets and showers are spotless.

Didn’t get chance to try the famous Nellys surf n turf van as its was fully booked but that looked and smelled amazing too.

A friendly greeting on arrival was nice, and my first impression of the site, was that it was immaculate and well run. The pitch was a good size, and I noticed that each electric hook up point had a water tap next to it, so no one had to walk far to fill up.

The toilet/ shower block was absolutely superb, the best camp site toilets I’ve ever seen.

The fishing lakes were well maintained and a decent tackle shop with friendly and helpful staff.

The site is conveniently located within a few minutes drive to Newquay and all the beautiful beaches in the area, making it a perfect place to stay for surfers as well as anglers.

The automated security barriers instilled confidence that anything left in a tent/awning would most likely be safe.

I didn’t use the on site restaurant, as it was fully booked during my stay, so it must be good!

We love Gwinear all the staff are so helpful and friendly , its in the prefect location for getting around cornwall, everything is spotless from the grounds to the toilets, we visit with small children so the washing machines were tested they work well and if you want to hide from them while you do your washing theres a chair and a book self in there. Great value for money considering the standard of the site. It’s only 10 minutes from newquay and about 20minutes from truro. Nellys surf and turf cafe located on the site is a must visit but i would book well in advance of your trip to be sure to get a spot. If you need a shop but don't want to go into newquay the shop in goonhavern is perfect has everything u need and isn't over priced and theres a new cafe opened just next door too. Brilliant campsite, our third but by no means final visit, we regularly come to Cornwall, but are so glad we came across Gwinear, the location is perfect . Easy access and local for travel to all our favourite beaches, but also to main roads when out sightseeing.

Immaculate pitches , the best toilet/ shower and pot washing facilities. Large cubicles where they even supply dettol wipes, disinfectant and cleaning cloths, so you can leave sinks lovely for the next person . ( wish all campers would use them!) .

The best welcome we have ever had on a site in 31 years of camping, really helpful and friendly.

Cleanliness is superb and no silly closing times like you get on several sites.

We don't fish, but the ponds and wildlife are lovely to watch.

Access to the site is excellent for caravans, as the entrance road is wide and easy to navigate.

On arrival, as always, we were greeted by a friendly member of staff, which made us feel very welcome.

The gravel pitches are spacious, with plenty of room for a caravan, awning, car and additional camping equipment. Each pitch has its own water supply and electric hook-up, which is great.

Overall, the site is clean, tidy and very well maintained. However, on this occasion the dishwashing area let it down. Each time we visited the sinks, there was food left behind by previous users, and one sink appeared to have what looks like red paint on the inside, this was unpleasant and disappointing, and not the usual standard we've come to expect.

The fishing lake is also well maintained, and the reduced fishing fee for campsite guests is a welcome bonus. The staff are, as always, friendly and helpful.

Despite the issue with the dishwashing area, we enjoyed our stay and would happily...Read less.

This is our 4th stay at Gwinear and we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

It is so lovely and peaceful,the tent plots are really big with electric and water.

We have just spent our 6th year at Gwinear. We return yearly as the facilities are excellent and it’s a family run business. The grounds are maintained to a high standard and the showers/toilets are of an excellent standard. We like the location of the campsite and the fact that it is quiet and relaxing, I believe this to be the case as there are not many families with children that stay (which is what we prefer). The pitches for camping are very spacious and there is a lot of room/privacy between them.

There is food available on site but unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to use it but looked good

The overall site is well laid out, well maintained and the facilities are excellent. We stayed in a pod, which was perfect. Our 3rd visit to this quiet well managed, well maintained site. Although just of an A road noise is not an issue.

Showers & loos were always very clean. Pitches are spacious with hedges for privacy.

Some inconsiderate people not cleaning the washing up sinks after use makes it unpleasant for the people following them. Not the owner’s fault as they are cleaned daily. I’m afraid inconsideration by others is something that you have to put up with when touring.

The owners are always friendly, helpful & want to hear about any issues.

Nelly’s food is excellent & reasonably priced. An excellent addition to the site.

Plenty of beautiful surrounding beaches & restaurants within a short drive.

I would like to see reception selling a few essential items/local produce.

Honestly Gwinear is such a little heaven, on arrival the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Our pod crantock was clean, well equipped and everything you could need. The toliet shower block was clean, spacious, well equipped, including the mena disabled toluets my husband used. The washing machine and tumble dryer worked well and the washing up area worked well, the only thing I would add to this area is communal cleaning spray as other campers didn't leave it the cleanest....Read less.

From the moment we arrived at gwinear we knew we were was going to have a fantastic stay. Warm welcome from the staff on check in. They explained all about the amenities and local area . The pitches are a fantastic size and everything is maintained. The shower block was spotless not once over the 9 days did I see any kind of mess or dirty shower cubicles.

We was that impressed with the site we booked for Easter weekend 2027 and booked to store our caravan for 2027.

To enhance the stay even more it would be good to have a small onsite shop with the basic daily items available.

In addition the hand dryer in the Gents toilet needs to be upgraded as the existing unit is not fit for purpose as it is very under powered.

We have been going here for around nine years now and won't go anywhere else. We take our three dogs with us and they get out and run to the gate for the field .every one on the campsite know who they belong to .and the owner also know this .we try our very hardest to keep them in lol . This campsite is great for older couples with dogs. Although children are welcome, this campsite may not be suitable for young ones who like to run off their energy - there is a 'No ball games' sign. This is because the campsite is directly next to the fishing lake, and the anglers appreciate the quiet. So do I and my wife.

The facilities are great, and the family who run the site invest every year into making improvements. The toilets and shower blocks are first class, and so is the laundry room. You can use the freezer at no extra cost. Wi-Fi is exceptional. We watched Netflix in our tent!

We did feel that the washing up facilities would be better if they had a dedicated building, instead of being partly covered.

The enclosed dog exercise field is much appreciated for our four legged friends.

The onsite Nelly's Surf and Turf is wonderful too. Booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment, but they do offer a takeaway service which we took advantage of.

What a lovely site. Easy to find & a great location to explore this beautiful part of Cornwall. Friendly & helpful staff. Facilities were all you needed and spotlessly clean. Didn’t have a chance to sample Nelly’s Surf & Turf on-site as we didn't book early enough but the food looked amazing. 10 minute walk (follow the grass path) to the bus stop that will take you to Newquay in about 20 minutes. Also had a lovely day in the beautiful St Ives - you can catch a direct train from St Erth P&R as parking can be a challenge in St Ives. Would definitely recommend this site and hope to return ourselves in the future....Read less.

On arrival was met by a very friendly lady sorry rubbish with names

We stayed in crantock pod was enough room bed was ok and included bedding was clean and tidy

Bathroom close by and immaculate in the ladies at all times couple of messes found in mens unfortunately but not fault of the site fault of people not cleaning up their own messes

Unfortunately we had poor weather so if returned would definitely bring some sort of pop up I'm order to be able to cook outside my husband managed under the brolly would also bring a travel kettle so didn't always have to use outside stove for brew

Pod had a little fridge in room and when I realised it wasn't switched on at the plug it is actually very cold lol

The site overlooks a fishing pond and could see ducks with their babies

The site is very quiet and have a no noise at 10pm policy

WiFi available for free too

We rented a pod for 3 nights at Gwinear.

The site is beautiful clean tidy and so well maintained.

The washing facilities were outstanding the best you will ever find.

There is a lovely walk around the fishing lake which is kept beautifully.

Nelly,s the on site cafe/restaurant was outstanding quality reasonably priced. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.

The pod was warm and cosy, clean bedding and a wonderful view across the fishing lake,

I only have a small criticism the floor of the pod hadn't been hovered and was extremely dusty, the window also could done with the cobwebs being removed.

On saying this i would 100% stay there again,

We love this site. So well maintained & clean. Each pitch is so spacious even if you have a caravan, awning & car. We have a motorhome. The toilet block is very modern & it's no wonder they have won awards.

Quiet clean owners very friendly facilities great near to Holywell bay and crantock in a great spot for touring Cornwall

Probably need to find some downers to stop everyone booking up but sadly there aren’t any

You would probably be hard pressed to beat this lovely quiet spot

That’s why we’re already booked for two more holidays this year and it’s in my satnav favourites as OFFICE

Easy to get in good plot space, all the ataff are very helpfull and friendly, all the facilities are clean and looked after, the on site bistro serves great food, i do not fish but have been told it is good. Lots of places around the area to eat ans visit etc.

We were blown away by this site, firstly the owners were so helpful and informative on arrival that you felt at ease strait away.

The gravel pitch was huge with both electric and water well spaced from other vans and the grounds were beautifully manicured with great views of the fishing lake.

The toilet/shower block was of hotel standard every little detail was thought of.

We were so impressed we’ll definitely be back in 2026.

Very clean site good fishing choice of 2 lakes, close to Newquay, Perranporth, Padstow, morrisons, not to far, there is a bus stop on main road, this year have introduced nellys surf and turf all local caught fish , it is an ideal base to go out exploring, no entertainment or play parks so a nice quite site very dog friendly with dog exercise field we have been going there for several years and love it there is always someone on hand to advise and help you and the other campers always speak so ideal opportunity to get to now people LOVE IT...Read less.

First time visiting Gwinear & would definately return again. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the owner who explained everything we needed to know to enjoy our stay. Pitch was very large & immaculately kept. In all the sites we’ve stayed at this site had the most luxurious toilet/shower block,(Spotless & very modern). This site was so peaceful & in easy reach of lots of places to visit ( only 7 minutes drive to Newquay) All in all a site the owners should be very proud of& that i would highly recommend.

Well firstly so easy to get too no stupid single file tracks. Reception was welcoming and helpful. Good security gate. Nice large hard standing pitch with nice hedge each side. Shower and toilet facilities were exceptionally well looked after and clean. The small snake bar/ takeaway on site was out of this world food was amazing. Fishing was great fished 9- 4 and had 20 carp all over 9lb with several going to high teens inc a 19lb .the site is kept spotless and everyone we met were so nice . Will definitely be revisiting as this was a great base camp to see all the sites around Cornwall....Read less.
