Located out the way down a small quiet road. Only a 5-10 Minute walk into Fakenham or the excellent garden Centre. Site looked very clean and looked after. Used the Toilets/Showers and the washing up facilities which were all very good. Back here again for a stay and the Ladies Day racing. Site and facilities clean on arrival before race day. After race day there was lots of food and drink litter but a large team of workers soon had our pitch tidy and it was so interesting to see the amount of work that goes into race day, both before and after. Reception on arrival was polite but not overly friendly or welcoming. The dog walk area has been moved but we weren't told this and the original dog walk is still on the site map. The new area is much smaller and therefore not as good. One of the dog poo bins was overflowing. Shower facilities were clean and the showers were hot and powerful. The washing up room still has little or no hot water - despite years of mentioning this issue. Basically a lovely quiet and peaceful site but could do with a little actual 'management'....Read less.

The site itself is within walking distance to Fakenham town which has a supermarket as well as local cafes, pubs and restaurants.

The pitches are well kept and of a good size for a Campervan and side awning or large tent.

It was misleading to advertise a dog field to arrive and find it was locked and was chargeable if you wanted the code.

The site being a racecourse also hosts evening functions but we were not made aware of this at the time of booking and only via an email a day before we were due to arrive. Prior knowledge would have been better to allow the booker to make the choice of staying there or not. The music did stop at midnight but as campers we are expected to respect others cland stop music etc at 10am - more then reasonable but as a venue, you can allow music up to midnight!

The showers were hot and generally clean but blockages did occur and no one was available to resolve it until the morning.

I would look for an alternative before booking this site again....Read less.

We always stay at Fakenham Racecourse when camping in Norfolk. The location is ideal as its just a short 20 minute drive to Wells but at a much better price. Short stay 2 nights pitch 60. Excellent access for Motorhome to the site and pitch, facilities water/ electric easily accessible and close by for us. Toilet and showers a walk across grass very clean although the shower was too powerful and wet your clothes and towel, same in male and female facilities.unique location being on a racecourse, very quiet when we were there. Walk into town to access bus services, town is your typical market town not a lot evident for tourists. Reception on site very helpful and gave some useful guidance on buses, where to go. Excellent touring park, especially if you want to enjoy a day at the races. We were there for the bank holiday racing and family fun day on the 4th May 2026 which was a brilliant fun family day.

The staff at the racecourse are really friendly and it’s excellent value for money as if you’re there for the racing the cost of your stay includes your entrance fee to the races. It is a short walk in to town perfect for pubs & restaurants.

Although we arrived at lunchtime so no staff were present our paperwork was left out for us. We went to our allocated pitch were we found the area to be full of discarded cigarette butts and general litter. After cleaning our pitch we tried to erect our awning but discovered that even trying to use heavy duty specialist pegs the ground was like concrete and impossible to erect our awning.

It would have been nice if site staff took the time to have a daily walk round to see if everything was ok and just a friendly hello.

Good location near to the town centre within easy walking distance. The camp site is on the racecourse. Good facilities including clean toilets and showers although the 3 showers need to be larger as it’s difficult to keep clothes dry in the small cubicles. Only a couple of hooks to hang your dry clothes and in the larger shower cubicle the shower head can spray any clothes that are hung on the hooks.

Fakenham town is small but Taylor’s cafe is great for breakfast and lunch. A visit to Sculthorpe Moor nature reserve is highly recommended- only c3miles from the racecourse....Read less.

We have stayed at Fakenham Racecourse many times and will continue to do so. We find it a quiet and relaxing site although it is obviously busier during peak times. We enjoy the walk into the town and once there we often take the bus into Wells next the Sea, or Holt. There is also a pleasant walk along the river. As the name suggests the site's primary function is a racecourse, that said it is nevertheless a good camping and caravanning spot in the heart of Norfolk. The facilities are good with clean toilets and washrooms, hard standing, electric hookups and water access. The grey water disposal point at the entrance is a little tricky involving the lifting of a manhole cover. Dog walking is excellent with a large field at the rear of the site. Access to the town involves a 15 minute walk along an unlit road with a 20 mile an hour speed limit which is largely disregarded. Fakenham itself is a small market town with a selection of reasonable pubs and restaurants . On this occasion we used the location to attend the afternoon matinee performance at the Thursford Christmas variety show which was fantastic. We often use the site to access Sheringham the country park and Cromer some 30 minutes drive away....Read less.

Booking was made easy over the phone and we got 2 large pitches for our family break. The facilities were close and well maintained and the site was quiet at night. Fakenham Racecourse site is a great base for visiting the North Norfolk coast such as Wells, Blakeney, Holkham Hall etc. Fakenham has a great bus service to local coastal towns. The club house adjacent to the racecourse includes sports I.e tennis,, squash courts and a lovely 9 hole golf course to be enjoyed by the public. As well as serving food.
