As the name suggests the site's primary function is a racecourse, that said it is nevertheless a good camping and caravanning spot in the heart of Norfolk. The facilities are good with clean toilets and washrooms, hard standing, electric hookups and water access. The grey water disposal point at the entrance is a little tricky involving the lifting of a manhole cover. Dog walking is excellent with a large field at the rear of the site. Access to the town involves a 15 minute walk along an unlit road with a 20 mile an hour speed limit which is largely disregarded. Fakenham itself is a small market town with a selection of reasonable pubs and restaurants . On this occasion we used the location to attend the afternoon matinee performance at the Thursford Christmas variety show which was fantastic. We often use the site to access Sheringham the country park and Cromer some 30 minutes drive away....Read less.

We have stayed before in May and thought the site was great. We stayed again last week and again the site was good. Just a recommendation is more lighting in evening and maybe a path across the grass to the toilet block....Read less.

Brilliant, site has everything and all 5 star, also the gallows pub on site with a indoor bowls rink with national players on show,

Golf course, tennis courts and squash courts, even a darts board.

Well worth a visit and if you fancy a game of any of the above just take your equipment as we did and book a court , ring etc.

Good quality site and easy to find. It’s in an excellent location for visiting surrounding areas. There is considerable history in the area.

The facilities are excellent and cleaned every day and all staff a friendly. As a dog owner there is considerable space to walk the dog. The deal I had for my 4 month stay was superb and I hope for next year there is no price hike. I would certainly recommend staying at this site....Read less.

Lovely 15 minute walk into centre for restraints and pubs.

The only small criticism is no lighting at night when going to toilet.

Booking was made easy over the phone and we got 2 large pitches for our family break. The facilities were close and well maintained and the site was quiet at night. The staff were very helpful and relaxed we were never checked up on ! Available is a bar and a short walk takes you into fakenham for all your food and drink needs. As usual site facilities were great...only niggle was the leak in the men's toilets. Toilet & shower area cleaned and disinfected everyday. Warm, comfortable and spacious facilities.

Pitch was lovely, staff very friendly. Good lot of free space for kids to run about in without bothering other campers. Great to have the Gallows at one end for a cheeky drink.

Staff are always friendly and keep the site immaculate. Fakenham Racecourse site is a great base for visiting the North Norfolk coast such as Wells, Blakeney, Holkham Hall etc. Fakenham has a great bus service to local coastal towns. Great Supermarkets and unique shops. A few nice pubs and takeaways. The club house adjacent to the racecourse includes sports I.e tennis,, squash courts and a lovely 9 hole golf course to be enjoyed by the public. As well as serving food. The site has a variety of spacious plots, grass, and hardstanding. Camping areas are vast, and some have electric points .The toilet and showers are clean and well kept. The reason we chose this campsite was that it was the location for a cycle event. It was a great discovery.

It's a good location for exploring North Norfolk, is within easy walking time to the town, and has some very good facilities...

Set in the lovely surroundings of Fakenham racecourse, the campsite is just superb. Grest amenities onsite. Golf course and tennis courts look high quality. Plenty of walking can be done.

Highly recommended.

Stayed here for two nights en route to another site for a three-week break. Perfect for a peaceful couple of days. Weather was kind so enjoyed the walk into Fakenham to Wetherspoons for tea. Have been to this site before and would visit again. Handy dog walk next to the site....Read less.
