Actually think it looked nicer than the CL on the island .

We were there on a wet windy day but still enjoyed the spot,with Swans and boats going by.

Stayed for a few night in good weather. Lovely site next to pub and river. Interesting chats to boaters and watching them go up and down stream. Could be problems if the weather is very wet as this is an island that can flood in winter. Will be back sometime...Read less.

A really lovely campsite recommended by friends, beautiful setting with plenty of walking. Ian, super friendly and welcoming. The Island CL at Friars Court is a very peaceful place with great views of the river. On this site not having an electric hook up is a bonus as a) it deters people from using noisy electric equipment and b) it allows the owners to keep the nightly cost lower which results in excellent value for money. This is the third time we have stayed here and on each visit the owner has welcomed us and checked whether we needed anything.

The website was easy to use with very full information supplied after booking which made accessing the site very straightforward.

Great value for money and a good opportunity to experience nearly wild camping beside the river Thames for a spot of fishing, ( £2.50 ) a day or kayaking.

Facilities are clean and easy to use with lots of space around them. Charles I think came to greet us and check if we needed anything. The surroundings are beautiful and the Thames path runs alongside. There is also the beautiful Old Swan pub about 2 mins walk away. Wonderful break by the river. Peaceful and quiet. Good dog walks and cycling routes. Fishermen very pleased with the facilities and plenty of interesting places to visit nearby. Peacefully situated by the Thames, didn’t want to move watching the wildlife, boats passing and wife falling in from her paddle board.

Delightful owner who checked in on us daily and swiftly answered all our questions throughout the booking process.

Beautiful setting with so much space to enjoy and throw a ball and not encroach on other’s.

Very self sufficient, but did pop over to the ‘ Ye Olde Swan which was a little disappointing regarding food choices but young staff polite and friendly.

We stayed on the Island CL and had the most blissful weekend, luckily for us the weather was fantastic and being off grid didn't bother us. We will most definitely visit again but will try for Cricket Bat CL as that was just beautiful, peaceful and so very pretty.

Charles visits daily and is just charming and very informative.

Super friendly and helpful owner with plenty of local information on his website, the cricket bat field is set in a very peaceful and tranquil location with plenty of shady and sunny pitches and spotlessly clean with all the facilities we required. There is a pub very close by but in our opinion a very poor and limited menu but there were better pubs close by...Read less.

We had a wonderful stay at Friars court.

Great access to the site that is beautifully kept with easy use of facilities.

Charles was very friendly.

Being so close to the river was just perfect for getting in and out on our paddle boards.

We also enjoyed watching the plane’s coming over from Brize Norton.

Lots of large supermarkets near by to get all your food and treats for your stay.

Local pub ye old swan was very welcoming.

We also enjoyed our paddle to The Trout at tadpole bridge with a taxi return trip also a great service.

You can hire paddle boards and kyacks from ye old Swan.

A lovely site in a beautiful location next to the Thames. I would have preferred to know that the Postcode takes you to Friars court (the house) and NOT the site because we pulled off the road with our caravan and at the last minute saw a sign that said the site is 1 mile down so had to reverse back onto the main road and carry on 1 mile. Once on the site the access was good even with a twin axle caravan. There is plenty of space for 5 caravans to spread out and the pub is next to the site which we walked over to for a drink, it has a nice large area outside next to the river. The only negative point is the grass is too long. There are lovely walks along the Thames from the site with the cotswolds on the doorstep. Burford is a beautiful village to visit with great local shops. We have already booked to go back....Read less.

We liked the site so much that we extended our stay and for most of the time we were the only van on site(apart from the geese and goslings). Charles and Ian are very welcoming but otherwise leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the site. We will definitely be back ASAP....Read less.

This is a lovely location right beside the Thames with lots of countryside walks and a pub on the doorstep with a few more in the nearby village within a mile of the site. There is also a marina so plenty of boat watching too. The CL filed (where we stayed) is very big so even if full to it max of 5 there would be loads of space. You could easily fit 20 and still have spacious pitches. Lovely warm welcome too. It was recommended to us by friends and we would have no hesitation recommending to others....Read less.

We spent 2 blissful nights camped on the cricket bat field with its lush green grass, the tranquil river and sounds of nature. On arrival we were welcomed and learned about the history of Friars Court, local walks and the locality of the Thames path. There are adequate facilities for fully contained campers such as fresh water and an elsan point. Don’t need much more than that other than the Swan for a pint which is a 10 minute walk. We always like staying at Friars Court, it's so tranquil. Cricket Bat pitches are our favourite. The Swan serves good food in pleasant surroundings with friendly staff and there are lovely walks along the river Thames. We try and get there at least once a year....Read less.

We were on the Cricket Bat field and that in itself is stunning. We were very lucky with the weather the sun shone on us all weekend!

The Thames path walk is great walking! Also the site is only 5 min walk from a great pub, withs food!

If you want, or need, a pub then it is a very few minutes walk away.

If you are concerned regarding security you are behind a locked gate.

If you like a well kept site then this is where to go.

We were extremely lucky to enjoy the exceptional warm weather in mid September and it was great to be able to to full advantage of this wonderful riverside location. Lovely tranquil setting overlooking the river Thames . Friendly helpful owner came and said hello .We were the only motorhome there on a monday and Tuesday in October so we could park anywhere and great for our puppy to run on his log leash . Lots of wildlife . we sported herons and swans with their cygnets .

The pitches front the riverside and it would have been delightful to sit out on a warm summers evenibg and watch the world go by. No facilities aside from water refill and grey and black water emptying . Charles came by to greet us and explained a little about the area .
