Lovely quiet site even when full. Just a little too far out for Buxton and shops etc but lovely anyway. Impressed with dog walk. Only downfall was curtains in showers which always stick to you, but this did not spoil our stay. Lovely pub in Longnor Village called The Old Cheshire Cheese. Had a Sunday lunch which was great value for money. Would highly recommend it.
First class facilities, well thought out, beautifully clean. Staff really friendly and helpful.Perfect location. Bring earplugs if you are in a tent as a fair bit of aircraft noise.Pub in Longnor lovely but be aware you need to book, they stop serving food at 7.30pm, at 4pm on Sundays and 5pm in bank holidays. Pub in Caldecote open longer hours but closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Food in both pubs excellent. We are back again later in the year
We spent a wonderful week at Longnor. Our first impressions of the site were of a well maintained and well cared for site. We were greeted by two friendly staff members and shown our cabin. The cabin was clean and well appointed, with plenty of cupboard space so we were able to live clutter free. The location of the site, and all the surrounding woodland meant that there was an abundance of birds. Although we do not have a dog ourselves, I was impressed by the large dog field where we often saw people exercising their pets. I would definitely return to Longnor.
very clean and modern facilities and very peaceful. It has a games room, sauna and gym also a small shop that sells quite a lot of stuff. Large pitches, some fully serviced. We will definitely visit again.
Fabulous campsite in a beautiful location. Grounds are immaculate and all the facilities you could need for your stay. They have a gym and sauna which you can book for personal use so no sharing with others. They also do pizzas on Saturday evenings and breakfast baps Sunday mornings. You do need to be mobile as the location is remote but beautiful countryside for walking or driving into surrounding villages. Staff are exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Most peaceful campsite. We stayed in the Chatsworth lodge with hot tub and can only say it was beautiful and immaculate. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful location.
Had a lovely long weekend a lot to do round ,bakewell is very nice
Fantastic facilities, perfect if you want a quiet and relaxed stay
Excellent site we will be back
We booked in for 7 nights after waiting a long time to visit the site. We'd originally booked approx 3 years ago but had to cancel due to pandemic. We were allocated pitch 37. My only criticism is that the pitches on the touring field are on a 2 directional slope, across the axle (required 2 sets of milenco blocks) and front to back (affected "fit" of our porch awning.3 days into our planned 7 night stay my wife became quite ill (whooping cough) and we had to cut our stay short after 4 nights and return home.Bit of a pity that we didn't get chance to explore the area a bit more but clearly not the fault of the campsite in any way.
Lovely peaceful site, ideal for our stay and visit to Buxton and Alton Towers. First class facilities.
