The Park itself is adjacent to the Findhorn foundation, a rapidly growing eco settlement that relies on resilience, self-reliance and environmental sustainability. There is a very decent organic take-away pizzeria/deli but it is not cheap. The Park itself is staffed by friendly people. It is a nice touch that tent campers are provided a covered eating area for when the weather is inclement (which, to be honest, it often is). The washing facilities are up to date and clean - I do, though, have concerns over the lack of a tap and fitted hose in what is a very sophisticated Elsan disposal point; the nearest tap being designated for drinking water...

The grass caravan pitches are prone to becoming waterlogged very quickly despite what seems to be extensive drainage work. The Park itself is very open without much hedging except around the park edges. Perhaps a solution to the waterlogging could be more hedging on the central grass area for privacy and water absorption?

I would certainly recommend the site. It is easy to access along decent roads from Forres although the 'chicane' at the camping/caravanning park entrance seems a bit unnecessary. Findhorn itself is a lovely village with an eclectic mix of residents both from the local area and an influx from further afield seeking the 'good life'. The dunes along the Moray Firth Trail are spectacular, particularly when the purple heather is in full bloom....Read less.

Having booked online we had no idea it had anything to do with The Foundation so drove past without noticing the small sign to Findhorn Holiday park below their large one.

. Coming from Kinloss you approach on a slight bend and notice the large Foundation notice so drive on past. I think all that is needed is for a dark green surround to be painted on the findhorn Holiday park notice in order for it to catch the eye.

We spent a lot of time searching and getting lost around the village not believing when people said it was at the Foundation

Despite this on finally finding it we were impressed by the quality of the accommodation. Better we thought than the French Eurocamp chalets we have been holidaying up to now.

We will definitely be back and recommend it to others....Read less.

Having made a visit to Findhorn a few years previous, it seemed logical to try another few nights here. Having arrived, the duty warden informed us that the the boiler had failed and therefore no hot water was to be had. He informed us that it would be up and running the following day. I requested a discount for the first night, which he offered for the our first night but charged full price for the following night.

We thought we would be able to manage for one night without a shower and be able to wash up with some boiled water from our camp cooker.

The following day the plumbers seemed to toil for many long hours in an attempt to remedy the problem. However all efforts seemed in vain as at 9pm, there still was no hot water to take a shower. Due to the weather being inclemant and somewhat cold with the rain, a nice warm shower would have been most welcome.

Upon the day of departure at noon, the water was still cold.

I contacted the warden by email to ask for a further discount, due to this unfortunate set of events. The response was a deafening silence. Was I to conclude that once they have your money, they will not give a refund? I wrote again....still no response.

What I can share here is that for such an organisation to be so impolite as to not make a human response, most quite scandalous. I am left unhappy by the lack of politeness and by what I can assume is a blatant attempt to profit from a customer even when standards of provision are not the norm.

From a health perspective a lacking provision of hot water which has been paid for in an agreed contract is not a good way to treat a paying customer. It also constitutes a health and hygiene risk when using public toilets on site.

Somewhat dissatisfied with the experience and lacking communication from Findhorn, this time around....Read less.

The major major let down has to be the standard of the shower / toilet facilities. The hot water was great but only three ladies showers. nice place to explore - tried to go to beach through village part but got lost on way back thorough the woods.

was interesting seeing the different eco houses and styles as well as the recycles methods - foods were good to try too.

nice base for exploring surrounding area without much on site as advertised so did not expect too much that way

Fndhorn village nearby and within walking distance or cycling. interesting with harbour & beach and some nice cafes friendly /helpful people

only problem i had was on getting caravan ready for leaving - some fools had been emptying there toilet stuff in the locked section with tissues etc (not supposed to ) and had blocked up the only one on site for such waste. this is not any fault with staff but users - would recommend therefore a second one elsewhere on site in case of this happening in future due to site users ignoring simple practices ( which are clearly written on site rules and notices ) for the chemical waste disposal.

I had 4 grand-children with me on holiday! Age range from 11 - 17. We all enjoyed our stay on site and we stayed in a 3 bedroom caravan. We were all impressed by the cleanliness of the caravan and the caravan site and although the site was busy it was extremely quiet. The site is easy to find with ample parking. As the vehicles are not allowed to park on the grass next to the caravans this makes it very safe for guests a and gives lots of freedom when walking/playing.

The on site shop and pizza take away were great. The range and variety of goods on offer in the shop was really good and would advise anyone to check it out especially for dietary requirements eg gluten free products.

We were all taken by the local beaches at Findhorn and Roseisle, both just a short drive from the site. You can actually walk to Findhorn from the site. We stayed 4 nights and for 2 of those nights the site was fairly busy. We had a pitch directly next to the children's play area. This made our pitch both a path to the play area and very noisy. We understand that noise and children are part and parcel of a weekend on a camp site, but when the park is being used at 630am by kids who's parents are pitched a distance from the play park and who are no doubt getting a nice long lie it becomes very irritating. The same kids using the park late into the night means it's a long long day. At no point was there anyone on site at these times to deal with these issues and the warden could only be contacted out of hours in emergencies. Perhaps this park should reconfigure the pitches and make sure those with families are pitched next to the park and those without are pitched in more quiet areas....Read less.

Very nice location of the campsite with the sand dunes and beach a short walk away through the village and forest. The on site Pizza restaurant was really good and the shop had a huge range of food. The staff were friendly and the site was very neat.

A few downsides though: showers had a low flow rate, no real free grass space to play games with the kids. No clear walkway from the tent area to the toilet/wash block without walking in between caravans or ducking below tree branches....Read less.

La Boheme for pizza, yum.

Warden friendly and ready to help.

Findhorn as a holiday destination is word class.

Booking system - must book in advance by phone - more flexibility could take account of local people who would like to camp on spur of the moment in response to a good forecast. Never seen so many vacancies for tourers and tents - is this booking system a contributory factor?

People reluctant to camp in front of ranch (covered area) for fear of noise. Could it be in a better location?

Laundry price is prohibitive and system complicated.

Come to Findhorn and camp, it’s a beautiful place which is well cared for.

Needed a place to stay in the area, stayed once before over a decade ago. Very disappointing. Initially seemed fine, arrived just before warden closed the office, he was very nice and welcoming, told me everything I needed to know about layout of the site. Reversing onto the pitch was made more difficult by a car parked right in front of it - appears the wide area in front of the low numbered pitches is used as extra parking for the tents opposite. The pitch we were allocated (pitch 2) turned out to be right in the path of anyone wanting to take a shortcut through the kids playpark to the toilet block, so constant stream of people walking inches from our windows. The pitch we were allocated appeared much less than 6m from pitches either side, and when the caravan next to us decided to put up its awning it was within 1m of our motorhome. The toilet block was clean, but dated, and some of the cubicles were in need of repair. The chemical disposal point was worst design I have ever seen - no ventilation to the locked room, a very narrow disposal pan with a trap that blocked up quickly and required the use of a toilet brush to unblock; there was no hose to flush out your cassette, but there was a drinking water tap within 2m - which I suspect many people were forced to use for this purpose. There was very good recycling facilities and the grass was well trimmed around the pitches. Sadly overall it reminded me of an eighties campsite that had never been updated. There were other pitches available and had we arrived earlier, and realised how cramped the pitches were, we would have requested to move. Won't be back....Read less.

Travelling south from Dornoch, via Dingwall, I remembered years ago reading about the Foundation so knew there was a park there. Staff helpful, our hard-standing pitch fine, toilets, though not new, are very clean. Residential area looks very well cared for with well-mown grass and wild flower areas. However, the area around the toilet block is a bit unkempt, with bare grass and the steps thick with weeds. It wouldn’t take much work to improve the general appearance. A wee warning : I took a late shower and found myself in the dark as the lights are on a timer. There didn’t seem to be an emergency light and I had to walk, dripping water, a good bit from the cubicle to the motion sensor near the door to activate the lights again. I had to do this twice. The maximum water temperature in the showers is unacceptably high and the tiled floor is quite slippery, but a good shower. There are lots of nice towns to visit in the area....Read less.

we have been visiting Findhorn Camp site for a number of years although this is probably the first time at this time of year.

I was very disappointed in the lay out and size of the pitches, there was barely 2 metres between our awning and the camper van on the adjacent pitch. Does this conform to current fire regulations? I was informed I could have an awning or my car at the pitch but not both, a rule that wasn't enforced across the site.

In the park rules it states that the site owners accept no liability for theft or damage to campers property, yet I was expected to park my car on the hard standing out of site of my caravan.

I won't say we will not return but I'll definitely consider the time of year before doing so....Read less.

Our caravan was spotlessly clean...couldn't fault a thing. There was everything we needed including a fresh display of beautiful poppies and wild flowers outside our window each day (and happy, contented rabbits). The site grounds were spacious and green and very well cared for/maintained. We felt safe and even though we didn't have children with us we noticed families with children having fun on the play equipment and enjoying the space for hide and seek before bed :-) The overall feeling was peaceful with lovely views of the surrounding country side. The Findhorn Foundation is right on the doorstep with the Phoenix Shop; Boheme Cafe/Takeaway; Univeral Hall and the Blue Angel cafe providing great live music and delicious cakes. There is the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Foundation which provides an insight into the history of the place and the current projects and varied programmes they run - fascinating place, well worth a visit. They also offer a short term guest programme with the opportunity to join in community activities for a day or a few days, including joining in with the wonderful lunch and dinner in the Community Centre. It is a short walk from the caravan park to Findhorn Village and the sea/beaches with stunning views, lovely walks and plenty of spots to just chill out and wind down. Gents toilets have had everything that could be stolen from them, stolen and patched up - no hook for jacket. Showers very clean, staff helpful. But the killer for us, apart from the very basic toilets etc provision is that bus service to Findhorn and Forres is very poor. My wife was effectively a prisoner on site. Our first visit to this site and booked on-line for our motor-home. Check-in was fast, easy and the young lady who dealt with us was very pleasant. This is definitely a static holiday park with completely separate touring & camping facilities. Space between the few hard standing pitches was very tight and insufficient room for our drive-away awning but luckily we weren't using on this short trip anyway. Electric hook-ups weren't in the ideal place at the front of pitches which meant driving over neighbouring cables which I didn't like, but the fresh water taps were in the same place so we didn't have to move to refill our water tank.

Site facilities were adequate but not particularly well thought out and while the actual showers were very good (hot) the toilet block is tired by modern day standards though kept very clean.

Bottom line is, we'd use the site if we were in the area again but we'll know what to expect next time ....Read less.

It might not be the latest models but all appliances and facilities are clean and do the job they are supposed to. Totally happy with it and would recomend it to anyone in a minute....Read less.

Well kept campsite in a good location and pleasant reception. Facilities were fine although the shower block was a bit chilly and some shelves would be handy at the sinks. The hard standings were fairly spacious but the central strip of loose gravel was a nightmare for the caravan jockey wheel - just bogged down and hard to manoeuvre. Having booked partly on the basis of the website's presentation of paradise, we felt deflated by the lack of atmosphere on the site, and the uninspiring location.

The facilities were average, and the best parts of the bay, were a decent walk away, not right on the doorstep.

There were good cycle paths to Findhorn village, and Kinloss the other way.

Findhorn is a beautiful little village and well worth a visit. The Findhorn Bay site staff were extremely friendly and accommodating upon arrival and the process was very good.

The site amenity block is a little old fashioned but was kept spotlessly clean and had plenty of facilities for the size of park, I only feel its noteworthy as many reviews seam to make mention if they are not new and shiny.

Stayed on a quiet weekend, I was the only larger size tent. Pitches back on to the road to Findhorn but are quiet at night, loudest thing was the dawn chorus from Findhorn Bay. Spacious toilet and shower block, only improvement would be "duckboards" in the shower drying area. WiFi worked fine where I was pitched. People from further south need to be aware that dawn comes early this far north in summer, on the other hand, it is light well into the night.

Anyone coming up for say clay shooting or deer stalking in the area should be aware that site rules ban firearms so this inhibited what I could do off-site.

I think this is hugely overpriced. I stayed in a deluxe caravan which had no soap and towels. I paid £90 per night and had to shower with no soap? Staff were less than warm and welcoming and the caravan was so unpleasantly cold to sleep in that I did not extend my stay as i had hoped to do. The caravan was very clean, even after I had been there as we are asked to clean up after ourselves which I would understand if this was less than £90 and run by volunteers. But it is that 4-5 star price and the staff are paid. How come a hotel can pay staff to clean but this park cannot ? At that price they surely can afford it. Also an extra £3 for towels is ludicrous....Read less.

Largeish built, tall, greying hair short at the sides.

We didn't catch his name, unfortunately.

For some reason he can't speak or reply to questions and just rolls his eyes or nods his head to indicate in a departing manner.

If it had been a one off I wouldn't have bothered commenting but this was 2 days running and he behaved in an ignorant, rude fashion to both of us individually on different days.

It also allowed me to be close to my beloved FF and take part in one or two activities when I had the time....Read less.

We were very satisfied with the booking in and facilities. The park is about a mile outside the village and although there is a bus stop opposite the park they are not very frequent. We were in a motorhome so we walked into the village. One of our number did not walk well and it still only took 20minutes. The shower block was clean and the showers hot. It was value for money....Read less.
