Nice couple of days at farm with granddaughter during half term, plenty to do to keep her entertained both on afternoon of arrival day and morning of departure. She really enjoyed the giant Easter egg hunt, which at £3.50 was good value for money, taking into account the chocolate surprise after finding all 14 eggs. Tractor ride was very interesting thanks to driver Chris. Restaurant was very busy lots of children, food was so so. Only disappointment was paying £4 for grey waste water disposal! Only used about 10 litres during all of our stay....Read less.

We have camped several times at sacrewell and this most recent stay was our favourite yet. The camp warden was very affable and efficient and he obviously wanted us to have a comfortable stay.

Some offerings have improved a great deal since our last visit 18 months ago. There is a greater range of gluten free food and soya milk although not at the playbarn strangely. When we asked about this they told us they had nothing to offer when in fact there was soya milk in the next building!

Showers are ok for camp showers but could be more powerful. Can't complain. They seem to be cleaned regularly just maybe need bringing up to date.

Good washing and water facilities. Good security.

Interesting place with lots to offer the family. The children loved the new obstacle course outside the playbarn and played there for hours!

The egg hunt returned a substantial prize which was great given some very poor offers countywide.

We had a fantastic sleep here on both nights. Very quiet. Good space between pitches and loads of room for the children to roam and remain in site....Read less.

We camped at Sacrewell for a few days at the end of August this year! We hadn't been before and weren't sure what to expect as we just picked it as it was close to Burghley House where we were visiting Burghley Horse Trials. I'm so pleased we did... lovely flat grassed areas for pitching our tent, facilities were great, the site was spotless, the site warden was very welcoming, there were lovely walks around the farm for the dogs, and the site wasn't rammed with other campers! We shall definitely be back - a 'high five' from us!!!...Read less.

This is the second year we have stopped at this site - we use it purely as a base for us to visit Burghley horse trials so can't comment on the farm attraction that is there. But for us there are toilets that are clean, separate showers, which can get busy but as we are early risers and out to the show - we've never had a problem there. Hot water is available for washing up... I've nothing about the site I can gripe about.

Their online booking did prove to be a bit of an issue when I chose to settle using the bank details provided on the invoice (FYI don't do that - use the systems card payment when it prompts you!), email response seems to be a bit of a challenge too. Replying to the email I originally booked through, didn't get a response. The address I was originally given on the invoice never got a response. The email that the system gives you doesn't get a response. It was only when I got the reminder invoice that I noticed a different address and then all was well. I only mention this as I'm sure other clients may try to email back on the system address and get nowhere and may just give up! - not a reflection on the site, I would suggest that this is an issue for whoever is providing the booking service :)...Read less.

It was our 5th year here. We stay here as we attend the burghley horse trials, but we stay extra days so our children can make the most of the farm park.

The prices had gone up a fair bit since last year and we were very disappointed that the play area is no longer accessible to the camping children after hours.

I do believe that access to the farm should be included in the price of the camping, not an added extra. It's really quite expensive if the price only includes a pitch in a field and access to toilets and showers.

The children do really really love the farm itself though. Even after all of our visits, we were still finding new things we'd not done before :-)...Read less.

This was our third year at sacrewll the site itself is beautifully kept and the staff are really lovely and friendly the was facilities are very clean ..im not a “camper” i like my home comforts but their showers are very clean and tidy and i dont mind using them. Over the 3 years the little shop on site has changed its gone too up market it used to sell little essentials which were handy now it only has “posh” bits in. There is a cafe there too again nice full english which you have to pre book but would be nice if they stayed open later to perhaps offer campers an evening meal! Even if it was something basic like sausage and mash or fish and chips. Another thing that has changed is last year when we stayed we got farm entry at a discounted rate but this yesr there wad no difference in price which was a shame....Read less.

A group of six old friends - joined by toddler and baby - on our first holiday together! Could have happily stayed much longer than two nights. Plenty to do in the local area, close to Peterborough, Stamford, good walking and country pubs. In reality we stayed on site the whole time, there was so much to do! Toilets & shower modern and spotless, pitches well maintained, great welcome pack. Mother of the children commented it wasn't possible to imagine a better campsite for our needs. The only (tiny!) improvement - some kind of label on the hot tap of wash-up, both are labelled cold - not too tricky to figure out, but might be a small safety benefit. Very satisfied with location - easy access and well signposted. Staff very polite and friendly. Great facilities for young children on site. We had to share the 12 electric hook ups with two units per hook up. Would be better with more EHU's in the top field and triangle. Some EHU's were 16 amp but my hook up was only a 10amp supply that did cause a few problems with circuit breaker tripping during our week stay. The site would benefit from a second Elsan disposal point in the top triangle/field - not so far to walk and campers would not have to walk past other campers with their loo!

This is perhaps the third or fourth time I have camped at Sacrewell but sadly it's time to stop. Whilst Sacrewell Farm is amazing for a day out, the camping facilities don't match. There are not enough showers/toilets for the number of pitches available. There were no plugs in the sinks for washing up and no hot water whenever we went to wash up.

The lady on reception when we arrived was lovely and friendly.

When we went to pitch our tent a car was parked to the left of their caravan where I was supposed to park my car and nobody was around to ask them to love so I had to park my car to the left of my tent whilst I pitched the tent. When the neighbours came back they moved their car and so I was going to move my car once I had finished unloading. Before I had a chance the warden came and was quite rude about where I was parked, telling me to move it.

In the morning we were woken early by a classic car rally turning up straight opposite our tent with their exhausts facing into our tent and of course being very noisy. To top it off there were people taking photos of the cars whilst we were eating our breakfast in our PJs which was uncomfortable. They were also all using the campers toilets which wasn't nice when we were trying to brush our teeth. It's not very considerate for the campers. A warning would have been nice....Read less.

We had the most glorious stay this weekend. The sunshine helped that is true, but it was the on site amenities that made it for us. We were 4 adults and 4 under 6 year olds. The free access to the farm, play barn and outside areas made the weekend so relaxing.

There was a good on site shop and so we were able to stay on site for the whole of 3 days.

Only minor issues were that there were queues for the 4 showers and 1 wash up area at times, but that meant we had to take things slower and that helped in its own way.

On leaving my 5 year old asked if we would come back next year. My 3 year old asked if we could come back next week!

We will definitely be back soon!...Read less.

Could do with access from top field through to farm & toilets as it’s a long walk round. We would definitely stay again and hopefully bring friends next time....Read less.

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and couldn't fault a thing either on the campsite or the farm itself. All the staff members we met were lovely and friendly and helpful, the activities and animals at the farm kept the kids busy and the campsite itself was lovely and clean and tidy and relaxed. I'm quite hard to please but I honestly couldn't fault a thing here and we'll definitely be returning hopefully for longer....Read less.
