My husband and I had a wonderful experience staying in a Wigwam at Herding Hill Farm. We had intended to stop at the site for two nights at the beginning of our holiday and ended up staying for five! The owners were friendly and accommodating, and the location balances quiet with the convenience of a town (and two excellent pubs) nearby. The campground is dog friendly, the toilet/shower facilities are very modern and clean and the park is well maintained. There are also well cared for animals on site. The Wigwam was cozy with excellent heating and, most importantly, a comfortable bed. This was an ideal base from which to explore all that the area has to offer, including hiking along Hadrian's Wall, the Roman fort/archaeological site at Vindolanda and Northumberland National Park. Herding Hill Farm is excellent value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend it and we certainly plan to return.
