Access to the site is along a horrendously very narrow badly maintained bumpy road. We did a lot of exploring around the area and so we were up and down the access road a lot!!! There are a lot of long term campers on the site and also a few glamping pods. It was quite busy whilst we were there, to be expected in the schoool summer holidays! Sites are not demarcated very well…. The facilities were quiet clean and the staff seemed to work hard trying to keep the site clean and tidy. I find it annoying though when I have to remember a code number to get in the toilets!! The showers are a bind because you have to keep your finger on the button…. Television reception is quite good but there is no WiFi! We used the site as a base for walking around Holmefirth. Lots of families of ducks around the site that visit you in the morning with their children in tow asking for bread!! We also saw a heron by the pond. We don’t fish but plenty of people did around the pond for which I think there is an extra charge.
