Castlerigg Hall has great views of the town of Keswick (Great at night) and the lake and its surrounding countryside. Good access links to Ambleside, Penrith etc via the A66 or A591 which are a delight to drive. Facilities are great, even during October the changing and bathrooms are warm, all areas are kept very clean and shop has local produce and is reasonably priced.

On my last two visits, I've been welcomed by the RAF during they're low flying exercises over the campsite, they appear briefly, but you get the chance to see anything from a Hercules, Hurricane to the Tornado, though not provided by the campsite, it adds to the amazing view.

The only downfall is our favourite onsite restaurant is closed this year, unsure if it will reopen, the staff are very apologetic about this and can't be blamed. There's a (very) small pub down the road which covers the beer aspect :-)

I will continue using Castlerigg Hall for years to come throughout all seasons
