Excellent, level pitch with electric and tap, and good value for money (we were in a small tent). Facilities were clean, modern and very spacious - probably the best I have ever had at a campsite, and I only go to ones with good toilet / shower facilities. The on-site shop was useful, selling first class milk and ice-cream as a bonus! The children enjoyed feeding the goats. The site was quite busy, but still quiet, with a nice atmosphere. The access to the High Peak Trail was great if you have bikes. Initially, I was put off this site due to the proximity to the A515, but in reality the noise from the road is minimal (more like background hum). The areas around the site are scenic and great for walking, and some are quiet and not too touristy. There are also good pubs nearby, and we appreciated the recommendations from the site. Dishwashing room is of a high standard also, with information boards and a fridge for campers’ ice packs. Overall, I would highly recommend this site to campers and caravanners alike. Probably my only slight negative would be that the tent field has many sloping parts, but actually I would recommend to pay for the “serviced” and numbered pitches - it’s not too expensive compared to many sites in the UK.
