Great site with very good facilities. Great staff who are very friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the local area. The little shop in the reception building is equipped with basic essentials you might need, food and equipment, plus has the bonus of freshly baked pastries, breakfast snacks and yummy local ice cream! The showers are free and the cubicles are large with space to get dressed. There is a little laundry room but we didn’t use that. The park is great for all ages and has plenty of equipment and space to play, there is also a small field for ball games.

The local village has a couple of pubs on the doorstep and there is a shop within driving distance. This area of the Lakes is quiet and unspoilt, not at all like the more popular tourist areas such as Windermere. There are loads of walks to try, mountains to climb, water to paddle in and other villages to explore. It really is worth the extra travelling time for a more authentic Lake District experience.
