Facilities were of a good standard across the park and good value for money. The bathroom blocks and kitchen facilities require attention in terms of access to hot water and cleanliness. Both kitchen wash up areas and shower blocks were regularly not to a great standard. Suggest more signage to encourage people to clear and wipe down sinks and to mop out showers after use. The lack of hot water for showers and washing up however was consistent and rather disappointing. Overall a great campsite however, this is a minor area that requires attention. Thanks...Read less.

On arrival we were given a plot that was cramped and felt like we were all on top of each other and the kids had no space to play. We were sitting outside our tent and could practically touch the neighbours plot and equipment. We were not given the option of camping in the beautiful field that Bucklegrove had and on finding it later we asked to move. This was a major upheaval but worth it as there was lots of open space to play games. The views over Somerset were stunning and some brilliant stargazing watching shooting stars at night could take place....Read less.

Check in was quick and easy and we were even let on the pitch earlier then we expected. Man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful when we had an ant problem and tent pole situation :)

Facilities were clean and all good working order. Showers/taps were hot no matter what time of day and didn’t lose pressure when all in use at once. The 2 separate sinks in cubicles is a brilliant idea. The extra room and place to put your clothes/toiletries etc in shower rooms is fab! Only downside is the parents who let their children run riot in the toilets to mess around with the soap and tissue!

Didn’t go into the lodge as we were so busy during the day we just wanted to sleep. But have no doubt it would have been a friendly welcome. Upside is it closes at 11pm so no noise after that, not that we heard much at all (apart from some snoring lol) and the campsite was actually one of the quietest I’ve stayed on which is a massive plus for us.

No lifeguard at pool which isn’t a downside as we enjoy going as a family. However no under 16s are permitted and sadly this rule wasn’t adhered to by some families and again kids were let lose to mess around and ruin it for others. Safety guidelines and rules are there for a reason!

Really close to Wells and Cheddar, highly recommend visiting both and taking a day to visit Bristol Zoo too. Views from the campsite are stunning!

Overall I would definitely recommend Bucklegrove and will definitely stay there again :)...Read less.

The Bucklegrove website shows open grassed areas and plenty of space. We stayed at The Grove and have never had our caravan in a more depressing area. It felt as if we were part of a traveller community parked on wasteland. This area was a model of how to squeeze the maximum number of caravans and tents into the area available. I could understand that at the end of a hot summer the grass was scorched and things weren't as green as they might have been, however, it was good to see that the weeds were growing so abundantly. While it was high season we have paid about a third of this price to stay on some beautiful caravan parks. Unfortunately this one is not just tired, it's exhausted. I suspect that the very good reviews come from other parts of the park which may be better but I can only describe what I found where we spent a less than inspiring evening....Read less.

We stayed at the park for 3 nights in the non-electric grass pitch. There was plenty of space to choose from, unfortunately not much shade in the recent heat we had. Clean enough facilities, we did not use the pub or the play ground, once my husband took our 8 year old daughter to the pool and they liked it.

Very helpful staff at the reception, recycling available and we were offered to charge the mobile phones at the reception if needed.

Before we left I wanted to take a shower, and as it was close for cleaning, I was advised to use the temporary ones. Very clean ones and powerful, however the water temperature was already pre-set, and very hot in a completely tightly enclosed space, and with the very hot weather I nearly collapsed in there. If there was warnings about very hot water, I would not have used it.

Otherwise quite, near Cheddar, Wookey Hole and Wells, nice place....Read less.

We have been to Bucklegrove before and as always the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lodge bar is nice and the prices are similar to those at other parks. Laundry facilities are excellent as are the dish wash. Unfortunately on this visit there was not a single day when the men's toilets by the main entrance were not smelly and unpleasant to use. I appreciate that the owners cannot control what other campers do but on this occasion I am presuming it was all down to the urinals. It appears they are not using the auto flush, presumably to save water, but if this is the case other measures should be put in place to keep them fresh. On the whole this is a very nice park and we will be returning in the future. As it is now part of Wooky Hole Resort it would be nice to see some significant investment to build on good facilities they already possess....Read less.

Bucklegrove is a nice site. My partner and I camped for a week and found the site to have everything we needed. Didn't have to queue to use showers, toilets, or sinks once which for peak season camping is quite unusual in our experience. There was a bit of a lack of I assume (hope) children not flushing toilets but this is not down to the staff. The facilities themselves were cleaned regularly by the staff, any issues were lack hygiene from other campers in between those cleans. The staff were helpful and approachable. We ate from the lodge a few nights. Once as a sit in meal which was very good, we both enjoyed lovely steaks, and a couple times as take away. No complaints at food wise it was consistently good, yes a little more pricey than you might pay in the nearby town but it's the price of convenience and we were happy support the business as it wasn't extortionate and was decent quality well cooked food. We enjoyed the entertainment on the Saturday night only wished there had been some maybe mid week as well. Swimming pool wise we didn't use it as it always looked quite busy when we went passed. We didn't book the site for the swimming pool, it is a small pool but in context of the park size it is reasonable and a nice extra. Our pitch was near the play park, so although during the early evening there was quite a bit of noise from the park and a few less well supervised children making a racket running around shouting throughout the site as whole, everything quietened down remarkably quickly at 10pm when the site asks for it to be. I don't know if this was a coincidence or not but it's was consistently noticeable and we don't mind a bit of noise early evening if you know it's going to be quiet at the appropriate time. Child supervision is not the site's job, what the site says it delivers in terms of facilities, quietness curfew, location etc. is exactly what it delivers in our opinion. Absolutely no complaints from us about the site and we would happily stay again if we were to visit the area again. We would also happily recommend to site to anyone looking to visit....Read less.

Stayed at Bucklegrove 30 years ago now returned with my two children to re-visit the same places i did. Campsite was great - summer holidays so it was busy as expected never had to wait long for shower facilities all perfectly adequate - could perhaps have done with a ‘deep’ clean as a bit grubby especially pool (lots of debris found plasters, hair in pool etc not very nice) but otherwise good. Play area is adequate but at peak capacity probably a bit small for amount of guests so we had to go onto the camping field just to find space to play frisbe and football.

A small site with friendly, helpful staff. Site was clean and tidy with lots of space for children to play in the field we were in. Unfortunately the family in the tent next door was foul mouthed. The father swearing at his young kids and the mother spend over an hour outside at night on the phone aggressively swearing loudly at whoever she was speaking to, fortunately both my young daughter’s were asleep by then (this was hardly Bucklegrove’s fault, just bad luck). The weather turned very wet with 40mile an hour winds predicted. As the pitch was very exposed we decided to leave early. As I was packing up one of the staff came out to help peg down a nearby tent that was starting to blow down due to the wind. We enjoyed the short time we were there and both my daughter’s have asked to return as they didn’t get a chance to swim in the pool or go to Wookie Hole - hopefully next time....Read less.

We paid for a Fully Serviced pitch, the most expensive. For both weekends during our stay tents were pitched right opposite with cars parked in front of them on the narrow road in and out to pitch. We had to endure children up playing football as early as 7.30 am with the ball being persistently kicked under our caravan and onto our space with both the children and parents scrabbling to retrieve.

The toilet block was a long walk and was inadequate for the amount there, I hate to think how it is during the school holidays.

The rubbish area is also right down at the entrance and required you to drive down if you had any amount and although they said recycling the only bin for this was a bottle bin.

Also they charge for dogs but no poo bins on site told to put in rubbish by the only cleaner who went round in Land Rover.

All in all this was the worst place we have been to, and we were not the only ones who said never again our neighbors said the same.

This place seems to be plain greedy why the tents could not be away from the caravan pitches in the Tor field is beyond belief, probably too mean to electrify there.

The only good that can be said is that the food at the lodge was good, especially the fish and chips....Read less.

Thank you for your review and feedback, all comments are passed to the Park Manager for consideration. Our Housekeeping Team are rigorous in their duties, with daily cleans and spot check cleaning throughout the day. The Park has recently been taken over, with investment already spent on the infrastructure, re-decoration of the toilet and shower blocks, new boilers, new Bar and Restaurant, and further plans for development are in the pipeline. There are of course times in between the daily checks that guests use the facilities and areas can become dirty again, this is to be expected at a campsite, and we work hard to ensure all areas are kept and maintained as frequently as possible.

The weather has not helped the ground, this being beyond our control unfortunately. However the lovely run of sunshine we have had has made our outstanding views even better! We very much hope you enjpyed your stay in the area and hope to see you again in the future....Read less.

We stayed in Tor view field and had a flat spot to pitch in. The view was great and we were still close enough to the toilets for the kids to run to. They liked the playground and Dino walk but loved the pool. The main shower block was cleaned regularly and showers were in easy cubicles with plenty of hot water (no charge) so I ran down there for a shower after the pool instead of the one open shower in ladies changing room. Food was good at the bar and staff were very helpful. Plenty of sinks for washing up too. Some of the other areas looked more densely packed than our field (electric hook up areas for example) but overall a really nice site with plenty to do nearby as well. We went to Wookey Hole, Wells and Glastonbury Tor. Having stayed on this campsite several times every year for the past 10+ years, we were disappointed with our latest stay. The pitch could have done with a tidy from previous guests as well as the grass being cut. Electric points very far away from our pitch. Had to ask at reception for an extension lead and was told that there was an electric point as it said so on the pitch layout map. But there was definitely not one there ! Made us feel as though we had made it up. Second night of our stay was awful. Noise, loud voices and loud music being played by another guest until 12.45 am. We informed reception of this the following morning and also mentioned this via email on our return and was told that the park was patrolled and the noise not heard and that we should have mentioned it there and then !!!!Did not see anyone, day or night, patrolling the park. Again we were made to feel as though we made it up. The overall friendliness/helpfulness is somewhat lacking. Toilets full of cobwebs. Toilet rolls not always there. The park lacks the personal touch and care of the long standing family run previous owners. We were offered tickets to Wookey Hole (Wookey Hole now own the park) as a "goodwill gesture" We extended our thanks for this but declined as we have been there several times. The reply via email was:" Since we have taken over the Park it has certainly got busier and we understand this may not suit everyone" We do somewhat disagree with this as in all the years we stayed, every pitch was taken!!! We wanted to visit old haunts and attractions that we did all those years ago.

Bucklegrove is ideally placed for Weston, Bristol & Bath.

More local is the majestic Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and the Cathedral in Wells.

The park is tidy, the staff friendly and knowledgable about the area and attractions. Shop is good for basics, the club house sells real ale and drinks are priced okay, but food prices appear steep.

During our stay a large group on a rugby tour caused your staff so much trouble yet we were still greeted with a smile and the facilities were kept clean (when there wasn't kids kicking rugby balls round in them), although the site is fantastic and had the tour group not been there I possibly wouldn't say I'd return (because I like to try new places) but because of how the staff handled themselves with all the nonsense going on I will be bringing my family back to Bucklegrove. Two requests I have, please mark your entrance way a little better as I parked a little too close to the what I thought was entrance barrier only to have to try and reverse and squeeze round the left hand barrier, and lastly thrown a lick of paint round the toilets as they do need a little spruce up....Read less.

This is a top campsite with everythiing above standard. The bar and food was good quality plentyful and a reasonable price. The whole campsite was in good order and spacious, the facilities were all that one needed. The play area was excellent and on site shop had most of the items required.

We were camping in the field area and the grass had been cut but the cuttings had not collect.

Overall thought the campsite was clean and well maintained with scenic views and in an ideal location. Staff were friendly and super helpful.

Toilet and shower blocks were outdated but clean. The showers became water logged and muddy quickly so ideally the use of something to stand on i.e. a wooden mat when stepping out of the shower would be beneficial as there was no other option available to dry off and dress. We took a chance on a last minute booking at Easter as the weather had been poor so we had to book a grass pitch not hard standing. The site is easy to find, in a great location for Cheddar and Wells, etc. There is a pub nearby, on site bar/restaurant and best of all a small pool to help entertain the children during wet weather. This is what made the site stand out and the reason we chose it. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. Some of the hard standing pitches are great with lovely views over to Glastonbury Tor. If you are lucky enough to get one of these then great, If not, you may end cooking and sleeping up on quite a slope as we did! The male showers were lovely and hot and, along with the pool, inclusive in the price, so no messing about with meters and coins or paying for extras. The ladies' showers never did get properly hot no matter what time of day we tried them. The site is fairly small and was very peaceful, despite being full. Our only negative is that compared to other sites it is possibly a little pricey for what is on offer but then you may be paying for the pool and onsite bar. A little levelling of pitches would not go a miss, nor would some drainage as many were waterlogged and out of action. Grey water waste emptying is by means of finding a drain to discharge into and freshwater is obtained by hooking up to someone else's supply on hard standing as there is no dedicated servicing point for tourers! Other than that it was a neat little camp site, which, if we were to return to the area we might book again, albeit with level hard standing!...Read less.

This was a nice first stay at the park and in Somerset... we had a lovely serviced pitch, ideally located but we were mighty relieved we hadnt had a pitch involving grass, as the level of mud was horrendous due to recent weather. The team worked hard to overcome the mud but this did effect the cleanliness of the park. We also felt that the toilet facilities could have been made more homely, and modern, although the water was always nice and warm. Later opening hours for the shop would be good too. Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your first visit to Bucklegrove and to Somerset, we hope you managed to make the most of the beautiful countryside and local market towns.

The weather has certainly been challenging for us this year, cleanliness is of the upmost importance to us and we work hard to keep all areas clean and maintained. The toilet blocks have all been re-vamped, with new boilers and flooring, however they will be replaced over time to a more modern look. Being new owners this all takes time and we strive to offer a welcoming, family-friendly service to our guests. We very much hope to see back at Bucklegrove in the future....Read less.

Lovely park with very nice hard standing pitches. However one of our partied was on the grass with a caravan and due to the rain they found it very hard to pull up.

You can tell that they are very proud of the park and we loved the dinosaur trail, children park etc which was so lovely to have.

The swimming pool toliets and changing area are very small and not very private and the showers are great apart from the cold floor, take a spare towel for this!

Washing up facilities clean and really helpful and lots of water stations around.

well stocked shop and great location. Staff were super nice and helpful, from booking to arrival, really make you feel welcome!

The bar area was good too.

Booked online via pitchup. Arrived about 8:30pm but no one around and no answer from the Mobile number On the door. However, help quickly arrived and we were allocated a grass pitch - completely unsuitable as very wet. Gave it a go but couldn’t get on with a motor home. I rang the mobile again - 2 times ansaphone and eventually got through. Very nearly left with nowhere to stay ‘pitchup shouldn’t have let you book - they’re always doing this’ followed by ‘ put it on the grass, we can tow you off in the morning’. Luckily, someone who was booked in a hard standing had cancelled. I say luckily because otherwise we would have been stranded with a 5 year old.

Food was good in the bar. Pool was good - one of the reasons we booked - and my little boy lived it.

Lots of reviews say Sunday lunch not to be missed. Unfortunately it had to be as there was a big notice saying the bar was closed for a private function so shove off......

Overall I would possibly stay again but am less likely to go for the superior pitchs that we were on as we found them pricey for what there was for the money. Lay out of the pitch seemed to cause confusion and the neighbouring pitch regularly park in the wrong place and we had to ask them to move as it would leave us no wear to park which got a little frustrating. Over the facilities were good but the one noticeable bug bear for ourselves and just about every parent we conversed with was the pool. Please improve the heating in the building in general. If your going to have the facility then it should be comfort for all. For the cost that should be a given. However the area was stunning and we loved chilling out and enjoying it and I really must applaud you for the Halloween party. I had a great stay at Bucklegrove. I was only passing through the area and in terms of 'just a place to crash for a night' this was so much more than expected! Staff were extremely helpful and kind both in email correspondence and upon my arrival. I was in a campervan and had a pitch selected for me, which was great - perfectly flat with a grassed and gravel section, and with screens of trees/bushes on 3 sides for privacy. I was only 3 pitches away from the toilet block which was fantastic. Unexpected facilities included hair dryer in the women's, and fully equipped kitchen sinks with tap for drinking water. The atmosphere of the place was lovely, from my pitch I looked up the hill slightly to where the caravans were located, which gave a real community feel. Sadly I don't think I'll ever be back as I'm an Australian only here on holidays, however if I were back and staying for longer I'd definitely go back to Bucklegrove....Read less.

I was very pleased with the upgrade to hard standing as the pitch we were going on was very muddy from lots of rain and use. We chose this site partly because it wasn't far for a short stay and because it had a cafe bar but it was only open one day and no dogs allowed. There was no doggie walking area and no dog mess bins, it seemed to us that dogs were tolerated not welcome. The shower's were clean and hot water but the park needs upgrading to meet a better standard....Read less.

The caravan was fantastic very clean and comfortable we also made use of the hot tub which we payed for with the caravan.

The only thing we where a little disappointed by was the pub grill bar was not open in the week and as we booked Monday to Friday we didn't have to opportunity to have a meal/drink when on the park. We arrived at Bucklegrove Monday 11th September to be told the bar and restaurant were closed until Friday the 15th. We picked this park because of the restaurant and bar due to there being no other eating establishments within walking distance so were very disappointed, It states on your web site that the bar and restaurant were open until October. We were given a pitch on The Grove and again were very disappointed with the overgrown hedges and general condition of the site. ~The toilet and shower facilities on the Grove left a lot to be desired and were scruffy and dirty. The swimming pool was acceptable but again the shower facilities left a lot to be desired!!. We were attracted to the park due to the location, it is ideally situated between Cheddar and Wells and does have beautiful views. We were disappointed by the quality of the site however, the layout is such that touring caravans and tents appear that they are on top of one another, with little space between rows and pitches. Fortunately we did have a good spot. The wash facilities are inadequate for the size of the park, badly in need of updating and more importantly were not cleaned well, despite the cleaning schedule on the wall being ticked twice daily.

Despite this, although mainly due to location and weather, we did have a fantastic holiday. There is a good pub just down the road too!...Read less.

Stayed in a cabin for three nights. Accommodation was clean, well equipped and the mattresses for the bed were very comfortable. our accommodation was very close to the swimming pool, bar and restaurant and toilets. It was nice that there was a children's play area right next to the bar/restaurant so you can sit outside and see your children play. We had Sunday lunch and it was lovely. Definitely worth the money! The washing up facilities were nice and clean. The children enjoyed the family bathroom available for baths, maybe a bottle of disinfectant spray available for you to wipe the bath out after use would have been nice. Showers and toilets were clean and nice. There's a little shop onsite which has pretty much everything you need, if not the site is not far from a Sainsbury's and a Tesco express. We enjoyed our holiday here. There are fantastic views from the campsite, and the pitches are kept neatly.

We had some great days out at Glastonbury, Bath, Bristol (balloon fiesta - it was fab), Wells, Weston Super-Mare, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and even Camelot! There are plenty of good walks in the area (we used the AA circular walks guide), and we visited the seaside too.

The campsite while neat and tidy, with well laid out pitches, felt a little cramped - with no open spaces for the kids to play (perhaps we have been spoiled by previous camp sites). There was the Tor view field, but we could not go on there with the dog. The field was mainly caravans with a few serviced pitches for tents - the nearby water supplies for our pitch were based on other campers pitches - throughout the week they were frequently hard to access due to the occupiers of the pitch blocking access with their tents/cars.

The children's play area would be good for very young children, but there wasn't anything suitable for our 2 (aged 12 and 9).

The swimming pool is quite small and was spoiled on both occasions we used it by noisy children jumping and flipping into the pool. The pool was unsupervised and children have to be accompanied by parents - as these children were.

There was a pub and cafe on site - but we did not use these so can't comment. There is a nice shop on site, and roadside fruit and veg sellers nearby.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed the short woodland path through the campsite.

I think the facilities let the camp site down a little. For ladies (and children) there were 3 toilet cubicles and 2 showers in the field we stayed in - which was not quite enough for the number of visitors so there were frequent queues in the morning. The alternative block served more campers and had alot more toilets but only 3 showers so there were queues for the showers here too.

The toilets were cleaned twice a day, but sometimes during the day the cubicles could have been a little cleaner - possibly due to the high number of children as we were staying in school holidays.

The windows of the ladies toilet cubicles also opened onto the dishwashing facilities - which I did not enjoy at all!

Having said this about the facilities I would consider staying at the camp site again in the future....Read less.

Although we had a nice time at Bucklegrove we did feel perhaps some areas were a little tired and in need of updating, in particular the shower block and washing up facilities by the G pitches. They are out of date and consequently give the appearance of being dirty. The facilities nearer reception are much nicer. Also we felt the G pitches were too close together, which meant we could hear the other campers - especially those who were up late and had no consideration for others.

Had a lovely meal in the restaurant which we thought was good value.

One thing I would say is, from reading the information on the website, Bucklegrove gives the impression that it is not altogether dog friendly. "No dogs inside, outside, around or near the café, bar, swimming pool or play area". Before our visit we were worried, for example, that we would not be able to watch our daughter in the park if we had our dog with us. During our visit we found the site to be totally dog friendly. We took our dog (as did many other people) outside, around and near the café, bar and play area. It is, of course, perfectly reasonable to ask the dogs not to go inside these areas....Read less.

Had a very pleasant week and not too crowded when we arrived. Pitched two large tents at the top of the field with a fabulous view over the countryside. It was peaceful and relaxing to be able to sit outside the tent on an evening after a day discovering the local area.

The facilities were adequate for our needs. On the occasion when children had been into the bathrooms and littered with toilet rolls and rubbish, it was sorted within minutes of mentioning it to reception.

After arriving back from a festival on the Friday evening, we were shocked to see how full the field was clearly for the good forecast of the bank holiday weekend which meant that there was a longer than normal wait for the facilities although additional portable toilets and showers had been put on.

Certainly would consider using again avoiding the bank holiday weekend though!...Read less.

Whilst the park is nice and clean and ideally suitable for families who want to have an enjoyable family break, as I have three old boys there were no play areas for children above 12. If there was a sectioned play area for sports this would accommodate the older children. In addition, a dog walk run would also be useful for dog exercise.

My main negative issue was the club, we were over charged by £7.25 at the bar, when queried the bar member of staff was reluctant to accept as she had added up on a calculator and the gentleman working with her even supported her rather than offering to justify the charge. When rechecked and confirmed the over charge, no apology was offered by either member. Asked about speaking to manager but not one available. The patio area is something we've never had before in other caravans, but with the fantastic view to the south, I can't help but feel that it's at the wrong end, changing it all around, however, might not be a viable option, and it was nice to have as well as useful for drying towels, my kids have never been swimming so often, every day they used that pool!

The shop was a bit pricey (we went to Waitrose instead) and the vegetarian options were, at best, limited. Oven chips, peas and a lonely pack of Linda Mac burgers. It seems endemic to most shops west of Portsmouth, even the massive Sainsburys in Street had a tiny vegetarian section last time we went there.

I wish we'd known about the Wookey discount before we bought tickets online the day before we visited Bucklegrove, now we know better for next year!...Read less.

We chose this site due to it's closeness to Wookey Hole as we wanted to visit there. The site had a pool albeit a very small one full of kids. The bar/restaurant was very good with exceptionally well sized portions of good food and good selection of drinks. The toilet/shower facilities were also clean and well appointed. Overall I would recommend to anyone wishing to stay within the area. My only point would be that the site is owned by the same people that own and run the Wookey Hole attractions so I feel a shuttle bus between the site and Wookey Hole for customers would be a not unreasonable addition....Read less.

We found that the pitches were very cramped and the children's play area tiny. We choice to stay on the park as it had a security barrier and we had to leave the caravan unattended for one evening. Unfortunately the barrier was not working and therefore not secure as we had thought. The children's play area was tiny for so many children, young and old so the younger ones couldn't play happily. We will not be returning which is a shame as we had great hopes when we looked at their web page....Read less.

This campsite is located very conveniently in-between Wells and Cheddar. We stayed on the Tor View and really enjoyed the space and views from here. However, as we travelled with small kids the toilets were a bit far. Some electricity connections at the sides of this field would provide added value. Our kids loved the small, indoor swimming pool as the temperatures were too low for outdoor swimming. The price is quite high compared to the other campsites we stayed during our holiday and apart from the swimming pool, the facilities are quite limited....Read less.

This site is in a great location, with easy access to fantastic local attractions such as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Tor and Clarks Village (retail outlets) amongst many others. The site itself was quiet and peaceful which was a relief as we have young kids. Booking-in was simple, and the staff were very friendly and had info and everything ready for us. The pitch itself was flat and easily accessible and not too close to others to feel crowded despite the site looking fully booked.

Great little bar on-site with a menu that looked good, although we didn't get a chance to eat there. Kids play area a bit small, and think the children would have got bored with it if we had been there for more than 2 nights. On site shop was expensive though... Wash facilities were clean and well looked after.

Only issue we had was with the pool, which felt dangerously overcrowded. There are no lifeguards on duty which is fair enough, but it felt like an accident waiting to happen as there were many children swimming without adults. The changing facilities were also filthy and I couldn't bear to use them.... Was a bit of a let-down as used to visit as a child and had good memories of it and it didn't look as though it had been decorated in the 25 years since I last swam there!!!

Despite this (and am sure it would have been a better swimming experience if it had not been high season on a soggy day!) I would recommend this site, and was delighted it was the positive, gentle introduction to camping I wanted my children to experience, so they want to camp again. Thank you....Read less.

Our pitch was very small and too close to other campers. There were no boundary markings between pitches and on our first day we witnessed 2 campers having a row over where the new arrival was pitching his tent.

Noisy neighbours talking till 2am. No wardens to uphold noise curfews.

There is no outdoor space for children to have a good run around or kick a ball about so we had to endure children running between pitches in the camping field.

The onsite bar was ok but we didnt order food. The park outside the bar was too small with hardly any equiptment and again, no space for children to run. Older children were sat around chatting and looking at phones! Not really what a park is intended for.

The Grove field, shower temp dial was broken but only realised after undressing and stepping into a cold jet of water.

Toilet cubical windows opened onto the dishwashing area so not very private.

Overpriced for what you get. Most facilities are just a half hearted attempt so they can be listed on the website to make it sound good.

Here's one. Woodland walk-sounds fab. In reality a bit of a gravel path and a few plastic animals dotted around the trees that can be completed in 30 seconds!

Dont be fooled by the hype. Looks lovely on screen, the reality is much different.

Thank you for your recent review and feedback.

At the time of booking the pitch sizes and location are detailed, there are various options, depending on availability.

Our Team patrol in the evenings, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests, we are sorry if you were disturbed.

Having recently taken over the Park, we are currently in the process of investing in the infrastructure and facilities, which means over the next 12-24 months we aim to increase the outdoor play space.

Any issues that guests have whilst staying, if we are notified we will endeavour to resolve.

We hope you will bear with us while we improve the Park, we have received such positive feedback from the majority of our guests already.
